has anyone tried this...

I want one!!! have you watched the vid of the 0-60... telling his wife or who ever how to drive!! lmao!

Oh and will it deffo fit a facelift s3?? might order one!

Just been talking to 'Jim' whos developing these kits and is making a square vent system for leons / golfs and s3's. I think the fact it shows boost pressure is deffo worth buying as boost guages aint cheap any way!!

I met the chap last month, was nice guy who has developed them in his spare time.

I need to find out what vag.com format my car uses in order for it to work on my car.

you can get it for A3 then? Would love to see what it looks like if it could fit a rectangle dash in the 8L

Just sent him an e-mail, lets see what happens..

deffo group buy!!! sent him loads of mail today and he sent me some pics of the 'rectangular' ones to fit a3 / s3!!! he said it will be ready for sale next month!!! Cant wait!!

Good news fella's, I got a reply from Jim today and this is what he said:

We are developing a new rectangular version which will be easier to fit in to a range of square vents.

I am also working with NEV from seatcupa.net who will work on a range of fitting versions.

See his handywork here http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=154545&highlight=nev+pod

Cheers
Jim

Will suggest a group buy, if it looks OEM, as I am very interested....

Clach :friends:

I'd be keen to see what the rectangular one looks like, I have a Greddy Informeter which practically does the same thing apart from read boost pressure, which is annoying.

Fyi: I have suggested a possible group buy for us all once the item is perfected, and if inflation and petrol prices have not hit the roof by then...lol

Good item, haven't been this excited since the armrest... ;-)

Think thats alright as jim said it reads all vagcom codes which would cost about £120 for a vag lead, then youd have a boost guage to buy etc etc!!! deffo up for buying one when there ready. The pics he sent are on works computer so ill post em up when im behind my desk!!!

never noticed you were in touch as well mate....just let me know if i can help arrange a group buy...

****Latest update****

Hi,

I offer 5% discount for 5 to 9 units and 10% discount for more 10 or more units.

Pricing for the mounting kit is likely to be set be NEV at seatcupra.net who is working on alternate mounting solutions.

Cheers
Jim

might take my vent out and custom fabricate it with some carbon fibre :) Clatch, next month well get on to him when there ready and see if we can all get 10% off! suppose £17 is better than nothing!!!

Anybody else have any views on this product??? any down sides or faults you can see?? Should be a nice bit of kit with a live fault code scanner constintly on hand.... We can all post up 0-60 times as well!!! lol

no worries mate..I will start saving now..lol

I dont get it! Its just a fancy screen to view info?!

If thats all it is then I would rather spend my money on otherthings

It's shiny bong water...it's shiny, and it lights up too.....!!!!! lol

The only thing I would be worried about is someone smashing my window for it...how easily can it be covered and removed...

Ah the magpie effect, respect to the creator then, he stands to make some money I imagine!

Reason im buying it for the vag scanning as i have problems with a dodgy n249 valave and a 'pressure drop' so i can scan it on board and keep an eye on my boost pressure!!! Think all the other functions are just gadgets... ie, you dont need em but damn, there cool. Who ever needed a g meter or 0-60 timing?? lol

A G-Meter in an S3. That will be useful. Does it cancel the fault codes and does it read all faults?

Jim says it reads all fault codes and clears them, only shows numbers reffering to the fault and not written text like vagcom. He says theres a booklet that comes with it referenced to all the faults, so itll be a case of looking it up!!! easy peasey to do though i imagine

As I said Scott, just keep me updated with developments or if you would like me to take the lead just let me know, although it appears you have a good rapport developed with him. (My scottish accent and roots might just sway the 10% deal though..lol)

This looks excellent, I'm definately up for getting one! I've been looking for a boost gauge for a while but this looks much better and does plenty more!

I'll definately keep an eye out for a group buy!

Codes are fine, and wouldn;t put me off. It only takes 2 secs to look them up on ross tech wiki!

exactly, if the same faults keep occuring anyway like mine, ull no the code off by heart ;) lol. Im sure ill be in touch with him within a month... If i say theres over 10 of us wanting 1 thats a nice £1700 in his back burner, which may speed up the process :yahoo: well have to wait and see.

Ill post them pics he sent me up tomorrow so you can see how its coming on!!!
