Anyone ever chucked a nice motor into the back of someone else???

How stupid and ****** off do you feel??????

I'm so annoyed with myself

bumper mashed, bonnet bent radiator mashed (coolant leaked and red coolant light came on after) grill mashed, + everything behind, wings ok but will need repainting, whole front end needs rebuilding i think

...heres me thinking will that car ever be as nice again - loved that car too

yeah, done it once, not too long ago either and I know exactly how you feel -

I know its corny but its only a car, so long as no one was hurt etc etc

Doesnt help with the "why didn't I brake earlier" feeling

I did it once before, when i was younger. From then on ive always tried to leave a big gap and keep looking as far into the horizon as possible, trouble is every impatient T*at wants to undercut me and move into that gap

Sorry for you steve but at least you walked away ;)

Feel for you mate - but as all have said - at least you're ok and the car did it's job in protecting you. It'll patch up ok. If you're not happy, sell it on and get something you feel happier with.

Truth is, if it is done by an approved audi repair centre it should be OK.
When my car was going in to get the paint sorted:
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=55348

I was really worried, especially after the mess the last people to touch the car caused.

To put my mend at rest the Audi garage took me to see a Sprint Blue S4 Avant that had done exactly as you have, they showed me the before pics and the front end was totally caved in, they then showed me the repaired car.
It was perfect, I mean perfect, panel gaps, head light alignment, colour match.... you would never know it had work done to it.

I guess I'm just trying to shine a ray of hope - it may all be ok.

Hope you get it sorted mate.

JK

Once to get on the Mancunian way ( Mancs will now it ) it's like a up hill slip road on to a DC in the sky going round Manchester , i expected the bloke in front to go for it ( he had loads of space IMO ) but he didn't so i went into the back of him thanks god it was only 10mph and no harm done , the bloke got out the car and he was a COPPER in uniform just finished his shift on his way home:scared2:

Don't beat yourself up mate , weve all done it.

Yep, G60 Corrado, had it 3 months, had it lowered & uprated, HiFi, Security, overhauled supercharger, spent a mint.......stuffed it into an Astra van,:scared2: long time ago now but still smarts a bit.

Chin up mate, hope it gets sorted without too much hassle.

cheers
Paul

hmmmm cheers all - im 29 and its the first time in 12 years ive had an accident which was my fault (no point in making excuses - i let my guard down and got bit)

Insurance wanted to send me to 'an approved garage' and i insisted on 'an audi approved garage' and so refused courtesy car but luckily the garage I have taken it to have let me have one anyway which i thought was good of them - they didn't have to do that. Just hope they do a good job of it, is my pride and joy only gave it a proper good clean on sunday too!

Jeez im so annoyed tho.

Whoever asked its a high spec 2.0TDI 170 S-Tronic Sport 3dr in dolphin grey (apparently a good colour to match im told)

My dad always drummed into me that you need to leave a big gap, I always leave a minimum of 2 seconds, and I do get ****** off when I'm in the fast lane with a decent sized gap in front of me and the person behind thinks they're losing out somehow so go right up my ****!, or even worse undertake me to take the gap!!! :banghead: Usually a BMW or white van.

What a waste of an Astra van :moa:

Yeh i'm equally aware of this too - only had that happen to me back in february not been a very good couple of months.

I hit a white van so to be honest its prob no big deal to the guy cos it prob wasn't his (prob company van) but i know that is no excuse really.

If you are trying to make me feel any worse - you really can't, trust me.

I think most people have had a lapse of concentration whilst driving. Unfortunately for you, it ended up with a bump. Don't feel too bad, nobody has been injured and the car and van can both be repaired - that's why we pay for insurance.

I'd be feeling the same though. Chin up....these things happen.
