Scotland Meet Anyone?

No - I get rods and pistons next week - so by the time it is all balanced, I should be building the engine, putting it back in, late May - Trying to organise an airfield for a mapping weekend on the first weekend of June.
 
Speaking to people over the weekend at GTi, I'm thinking that the best timing will be late JULY or very early AUGUST to allow some of the southeners to attend and for "Rubber Legs" Doug to rebuild his car!
 
Would I be allowed to come along to this meet with my old 200 quattro? Count me in if i'm allowed!

Are you going to tell us all about it? I bet you went for all the classic girly options. Pink leather interior. Soft furry gear stick cover. Roundabout management system. Aircon with filtered testosterone extraction unit. Permanent back and passenger seat drive option - OFF. etc.

Bet you chose metallic pink though.

Anyhow this is a great couple of days and well worth it the curry and the beers are worth it alone - anyhow you'll get along really well with glen he's an ex honda owner but never fails to bring up how his teg R was the best handling blah yadda yadda he ever had! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/goofy.gif
 
Nope, didn't like the Type R - went for an S2000 !!!

There aren't really many options available, but it's dark metallic grey, with a black/red leather interior. Couldn't get the front chin spoiler (won't go down the drive) or the rear spoiler (can't get mountain bikes on).

Ok, I'm going to phone David tonight about a meet. Jo, are you talking about end of May, start of June you can come along, if so when? We only need a few folk to make it worthwhile.

Ok, got David. I'll be starting a new thread to arrange a Glasgow based meet in the next few weeks. Just before I kick that off, if anyone is interested in a mid week evening meetup (Wednesday nights), drop me a PM, looking at possibly Wednesday 2nd June. Please don't reply to this thread, I'll kick off another once (if) I get a few PMs of interest.

This thread is being left for a full Scottish meet later in the year.

Sorry guys, but I need to Hi-jack this thread for a bit because I can't start a new one for an impromptu meet on 2nd June. If I leave it any later no one else will be able to go.

I've already arranged to meet ajsl at Breahead betwen 6:30 and 7:00. Guess Giffnock can't be any more than 30 minutes away. AJSL, if you prefer, we can meet at the Khufu's suggestion of the New Turban. How's 7 for meeting up there?

Anyone else? We can always go for a short drive after if folks fancy it.

I'd be up for coming along to this although id need to bring a non-audi as I am dropping the RS4 off at QST tomorrow....... still be good to have a glasgow meet though! Is anyone else on here going along to the tyresmoke run up over Glenshee next Saturday? I'll be going along.
 
For anyone coming from Glasgow side (M8) after you take the Forth Bridge cuttoff from the M8 underneath the roundabout which is sign posted for Edinburgh Airport there is a very dodgy camera which is "50mph" so beware it catches "everybody" and it's on both sides
