The 8L S3 - My thoughts after 2 different cars and 2.5 years of ownership

Well i am big enough to stand up and say sorry if i was over the top..... on this occasion, maybe a little....but from sheer frustration that somebody can object so much when they clearly are hanging by a thread.....

And please dont get into the 'hiding behind a keyboard' conversation....as you have noticed, i and a few others on here are very outspoken individuals.... i am the same in person and have no problems telling you what i think of you.

Can we please now leave this debate...and get back on track.... sorry Jedi for nicking your post :respekt:

Apology to Glen for having half an inch over you :lmfao:- short ****:haha:

lol.. This is jokes... :jump:Yeah ive driven a few M3s, one of my good friends bought one as his first car at 17.. No he's not a rich boy.. i'm not hurt by a single thing said in this thread, i find it quite funny actually how pathetic the whole thing is.

I brought in the mr2 just as an interesting fact about my friends mr2.. simple as that.. The mr2 is quick. End of.

When i called you a headache.. i was joking.. get over yourself.. 6'3 doesnt mean **** to me. tell the 6'8 arab mr2 owner named omar his car is pansey.. the bottom line is that yeah im the new kid.. no one here knows who i am, and im not gunna start ranting and raving at what im gunna do or say cos i dont care enough... I'll leave it at the stage that this is over the internet.. so nothing ur really sayin matters..sorry bro.

At the end of the day whats the point getting angry, cos your probably upset cos you been bullied all your life for being such a geek, and is taking it out on forums cos u cant get someone to suck your cxck.

Im sorry but it had to be said.. its all kinda pathetic isnt it. Im 19 years old and i find it funny how some old man is gettin so upset cos i said an mr2 is quicker than an m3 and id like to change it. lol.. Im sorry if i was rude.. But grow up, seriously.. Who cares.. Get out more.

Cars.............. Havnt come on the internet for agro.. take it out on your cat.. Get enough headache from monkeys on road, then to come sit here and listen to you on ur little rant trying to be clever with cheap come backs. Its playground beef brotha.. lol:w00t:

I agree with what mr rhubarb said.. Lets just leave it as is.. your opinion mr2s are girls ****** cars.. fair enough.. M3s are common and boring. Getting all aggrivated over something soooooo stupid.. ive got better things to do.
Peace:jester:

I'll tell you what...
Learn to type/spell properly, as per the forum Rules...and I'll give you a reply.

You'll not win this little game, I can assure you that.
I'm struggling to see through tears of laughter at you digging a bigger hole.

Take your Chav Chariot, and your 'txt' talk and sod off somewhere else. If you go looking for agro (yet protest you don't)..you'll find it.

Wind your neck in...you've been warned.

lol.. Im scared...
Edit... And what game???? U northern monkeys are weird.

I'll take back what i said.. This is so petty and immature. You have your apology ess-tree.. Im not scared or at all frightend you get to know me a little you'll relise i really dont care for trash talkin, growing up with a 17 stone UFC champ has taught me talking doesnt get you anywhere...And chattin **** over the internet is what 12 yr olds do...so ignore my comments... i look forward to GTI international, Im not on the forum to make enemies. I'm still learnin as far as cars are concerned.. i got my opinion and ill say it.. thats what these little debates are for no need to get it all heated.

Petrol prices must be expensive up North aye Glen? ;) :respekt:

Good grief just drove past my local petrol station in Walsall, Diesel is £1.22. Shocking:scared2:, Sainsburys is £112 for super I dont feel so bad now getting rid of my TDi Golf lol :)

Ok ok chill now. As Ess said be carefull, as he does have the power to remove you just nip this in the bud now eh. Im new here too and I think I know when to back down I'd just change the subject now. You would miss this site if you were not on here.

Nathan...just thought I would mention, that photo at the top of this debate...the one in the petrol station....good photo

Agreed beautifull condition, such a shame what happened, what a waste.

A N D................ Back on topic.

thanks.. i enjoy a bit of photography here and there and its helpfull knowing vaguely what im doing when i come to capture what i do for work.

The blue S3 was a shame but i personally preferred the colour and spec of my 2nd car.

I collect the M3 tomorrow.. my halfords loyalty card is at the ready ;)

Great choice Nathan, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it once you're used to driving the thing. You'd better keep this one nice and clean and away from blind drivers at junctions ;)

(personally, I preferred your blue S3 - faster colour and all...)

not anything to do with the fact you have... oh yes.. a noggy s3 aswell ;)

Me? Noggy S3? Never!!! (well, maybe once upon a time....)

The S3 was quick, but going for a nice big N/A engine is so much better to live with. No more lag, just power when you want it and much better for cruising around.

I can vouch for that with the 4.2 V8 S4 curtesy car I have, instant acceleration and boy does it go, just drop my foot down and you get a massive shunt of power. Pulled off from the lights with a Fiat coupe 20v turbo just left him for dust, when we got to the next set he gave me a nod and smiled, just goes to show N/A cars have power right when you need it without the fear of dreadded turbo lag. and mid range through the gears its insainly quick, real pin you in the seat feel.

E46 M3 :anbet:

An absolute gem of a car, and I'm very anti-BMW. Drives like a dream, is comfortable, drinks less than my R32 and sounds glorious. As soon as I hit 23 I should be able to get insured on one, and I'll be able to afford a nice one too.

Nathan mate, if you disappear for a week we know it's because you'll be out driving your M3. It's a serious bit of kit, feels completely different to the S3.

well im back after 3 hrs driving in the M3 . Its now sitting on my drive :)

What a car... I test drove a few very briefly but after a longer drive its very apparent that i beats the S3 in pretty much every area.

Dont get me wrong. I loved the S3 and knew i would 'like' the M3 but was a bit worried i would miss my audi too much.

Simply not the case.

From the turn of the key it sounds like a proper sports car... none of that s3 diesel-a-like sound. Its a bit more comfy to sit in due to extra tilt adjustments on the seats. The cabin is 'as nice' as the s3 i would say with everything feeling solid and its well layed out. After 2 mins sitting in my first M3 i knew where everything was and what everything did.

On the move and round town its way less crashy than the S3. Even on the lower profile 19" tyres it rides alot smoother. The SMG in auto or manual is easy enough to use in town and a light lift of the throttle seems to result in a near perfect shift each time. Never had any jolting or missed gears or moments where i was left swearing to myself becuase the SMG made a fool of me... Im not sure what some peoples problem is with the gearbox really??

Out of town the suspension continues to impress overt the S3. The car stays alot flatter through both quick sharp and long sweeping corners. Front end feel ... well i had forgotten a bit what that felt like after 2.5 years of S3's... but its nice to have it back. The steering is direct and gives good feedback.

Initially when pulling through the gears I thought i would miss the punch of the S3's remapped little engine.. But a quick adaptation to driving with slightly higher revs than with the S3 and its just as urgent and quick and punchy as the little audi. Above 4000rpm it comes into its own and a couple of times i was into 3 figure speeds before i realised.

The brakes have more feel than the S3 aswell although i understand this is still a weak area of the M3 aswell.

And the best thing was... i got 27.5 mpg on the way home with a mix of 80-100 motorway speed and a bit of spirited back road driving once i was closer to home and knew the roads.

So incase you cant tell by now.. I'm impressed! And for those who told me its not a huge upgrade over the S3 I say to them.. drive both and then make your decision...

I have made mine!

That's a damn fine looking car!
In my view, the perfect colour combination...enjoy it!

With the CSL bits on, it will look even sweeter...you heard a CSL?

Not a tbar they've got weak chassis...

I 'aint scared of 6ft 8 arabs................

your not funny. Ignorant *****.

Well you certainly aren't, neither do you have a sense of humour at all it seems!

I would check the dictionary for the definititon of ignorant too. Maybe you meant arrogant....???

Enjoy upsetting all and sundry on here fella, and when your car has a problem, I hope we all tell you to go ask your forth and multiply!

As Ess said earlier, WIND YOUR NECK IN, you are making yourself look a little bit silly. Precisely what a 6ft 8 arab has to do with this thread is beyond me, but then again it was you that brought it up...! You could have just said 6ft 8 bloke, couldn't you? But then that would not have played on people's PS concious the same would it, or did you say he was "an Arab" ( I think "of Arabic decendancy" may be a little more diplomatic) to make Ess a bit more scared of him? I think it is you that is guilty of the racial stereotyping, which is exactly why I poked fun at it!

So chill out as they say and enjoy the banter. That is all it is, the sooner you accept that, the more you will enjoy it round here and the less people you will (maybe inadvertantly) pxxs off along the way.

im not gunna open this up again. was dead and buried. Another comment was made but some dave bloke talkin about immigrants last night that i left.. Ye ruck sack..was a fairly funny comment.. think you got the blow from what dave said.. I apologise for callin you a *****. only brought up the hieght thing cos he did. This is old now.

We are only having a laugh fella, dot worry about it!

MInd you I bet your mate does get some funny looks on the tube!! He could probably get a carriage to himself if he played up to it a bit!!! !:)!!!

reminds me of that Jackass 2 stunt they do with the pubes on the chin of the fake sheik wiht the fake bomb! They have an "in on the joke" taxi driver, who beat the fake arab guy up and pretends to shoot his mate !!!!! That was brilliant, but soooooo scary for the guy they duped!!

he's hench.. gets looks everywhere.. but with a 400bhp mr2 why would u use the tube!.. he just picked up an evo 6 today.. looking forward to taking that for a spin.

jackass gag was funny.. you can never tell whos jokin an whos serious over the net. but yeah not so funny when u go on holiday 3 times a year and get stopped every freckin time.

Sounds like a handy mate to have about!! hahaha!
