Custom Codededed today!!!!

Yeah booked the mobile service..they'll be coming to work to do it.

Thanks for the extra tips as I do use V-Power fuel so will mention that at the time. Do they give you a link to download the tool when you have the work done as I can't see it on the website, unless I'm being blind?! I've got a VAG-COM cable on the way so that'll be good fun to play around with :)

Cheers for the comments fellas.....

Nick, mine cost £312 with the 30% discount, dunno what car you have? your best bet is ringing chesterfield JBS as they are the main firm i believe.

Right, rang around all the VAG places inc euro parts.... all quoting £25.32+VAT for the coil packs and they arent interlinked either grrrr..... anyway, bought 3 more coils from Audi, borrowed a pair of rubber gloves (picture me in the Audi car park with a suit and rubber gloes on!!)...and replaced 1 + 2...3rd was already changed from Sunday..... and now its running sweet as a nut...just need to get to do number 4 when i get ten mins spare to take the vacuum box off...... the turbo does sqweel quite a bit when it hits the 4500rpm mark...dunno if thats normal....

The 'smile' is back:lmfao:

Glad its back to the smile time for you!

No worries for the tips its stuff i found out form people on here anyway so pread the knowledge and all that jazz.

look forward to reading you post on the 14th after your drive home from work!!

Ah cheers for that fella. The red text they've used for the links really hurts my eyes and I couldn't see it for the life of me...honest! :haudrauf:

Have just got to get my Inlet Camshaft Adjuster swapped out as the engine management light is on at the moment and I doubt CC will be happy to do the work while it's in that state.

:undwech:yup.... cant stop smiling.....first scalp was a blacked out 1.8T A3..... destroyed...totally.... idiot for trying in the first place :yum:

Hmm... I dont remember getting wiped out by an S3. lol. There must be an imposter roaming the streets of Sheffield...Where abouts in Sheffield are you mate? I've been thinking of getting the CC treatment for the last 6 months and everytime I read someones experience it pulls me that little bit closer.

Im near Crystal Peaks mate, the 1.8T i took was on the mosborough bypass coming off the main carriageway......does yours have the 1.8T removed and 'Turbo' written in its place?:lmfao:

Tim

Nice work Tim, often after a remap the coils can go. I'd love to know why, as it is only the spark plug that experiences the greater cylinder pressures. The output stage in the pack should receive the same voltages various engine speeds. Perhaps its because you've been revving the motor more lately.

Anyways, glad you got it sorted.

Don't worry about the A3 guys, for example you'd probably leave me also. I'd sit at the lights with my front wheels spinning, whilst you hook up and shoot off!

Love the low torque of the K04-02x after a remap. Extra hiss from the turbo is normal as long as it doesn't sound like a loud squeal.

Not me then. mines is standard apart from the tints and wheels.

I lost two coil packs in the 3 weeks following my remap. I replaced all four and now carry 2 spare coil packs and a small tool kit with all the required tools in the boot :)

Hi, In the last 3 weeks after my remap, I've noticed mine squeal a bit like a ghost train but only in 4th gear like if ive come off a roundabout at a slow speed then its had to spool up from low revs. Its only done it probably 3-4 times though.... what is it?

Have you noticed much of an increase in fuel consumption?

lol no probs mate, where are you from?

Junky, am gonna do exactly the same.... although still need to replace number 4 when i can be *****..... shame that the other two are so inaccessible..... even number 1 was a ball ach because of that metal piece that stops it coming straight out

Dave, i have that, not noticed any patterns though...it can do it at top revs in any gear... i think when its under strain.... is weird but when i wind the window down, isnt that loud........ noticed this morn that after about 4 miles (when it was warm).....a bit of smoke coming out of back end under hard acceleration....dont think it was blue though:search:

I dont even know what the areas called only been here for a few weeks lol. Its up east bank road...the other side of Norfolk Park.

Did you goto chesterfield to get it remapped? How far is it from Sheffield?

ah yeah....... your about 10 minutes from me.......

is yours a 1.8T or an S3? i might have seen ya.......

your about 10 miles from JBS where you are

I have the poor mans S3....1.8T ...love it to bits though...when its warm and everything's running smoothly. Doesn't pull like it used to though. I think its because i'm used to it now but i'm hoping its got something to do with the coil packs due to the morning missfires over the last few weeks. Can't believe how good a garage is for a car! I never had any cold start problems when parked in my old garage.

Do JBS have a rolling road facility by any chance?

hey,

Just had my 1.8TQ mapped by CC today also. It previously had a chipped uk map on it, seems to be fair bit of difference between the two. With c-uk I had large amount of torque ready at 3000 rpm however the engine really whined at 4500 or above and the pull was slightly weaker, with the CC map I dont have that grunt at around 3000 (something I have very much got used too!) However a quick spin on some bendy roads keeping the revs up didnt feel like a strain on the engine and it was happy to keep pulling!

I am not sure how much quicker the CC map is, I could also be wrong (prehaps my mind is tricking me,I did just off-load £300 knowing the gains would not be huge, but need to see some!) I have the dyno readouts from when the c-uk map was on the car, I will get around to getting one done with the CC map and post the results (will be intresting to see if this is all in my head!) should anyone be intrested!

On a side note the whole process was very quick & the guy who came down to write the map was a top bloke as well, unlike others I have been too..

I dont think so mate....think they have a dyno....... as far as i know 'Awesome' is the closest to us....but could be wrong....thats a trip across the Penines to Manchester...about 80 miles..... hey i had a 1.8T for 6 years and loved it to bits, great car..... miss it a lil bit lol.......

Ah so you wont have the wow factor like me then:yahoo:, welcome to the CC club:superman:

I know what you mean about a ball ache, the two of mine that went were in cylinders 3 and 4 :(

I wouldn't do too many miles in it with faulty coils as I *think* the lack of ignition can cause the engine to pass unburnt fuel into the cat. If your cat gets very warm, this can be a bad thing.

not to worry funky....the only coil to change is cylinder 4 which isnt faulty..... the car drivwes exactly as it should now..... im going to change the 4th one at the weekend just incase and put together a tool kit for future- as a just in case measure
