Hey. Round the gearstick and the ashtray I have wallnut which isn't really my cup of tea. It is also on the door car in a sort of arrow shape that runs from the handle then back along under the part where you rest your arm.

Is it possible to remove the bits from the doors and buy different ones? Or are they permanently fixed to the door card? Same for the gear stick and ashtray can i get different parts for there too?

I had a search for other threads on this, couldn't see any. Sorry if this has already been discussed.

Mark.

Yes all the trim can be replaced. If you check up on the replacement costs and still want to go ahead, I can give you links to the workshop manual pages for each part. In most cases it's only clipped into place.

Excellent. Thankyou :) Would I have to speak directly to Audi for the prices of the replacement parts? Or is there somewhere I can get them cheaper?

Thanks,
Mark.

Vagparts sell the aluminium trim kit for £259 or Piano black for £179, both plus VAT and minus a little AS.net discount.

Wicked. Thankyou very much! Its great having people to ask. I wouldn't have a clue otherwise. The S Line aluminium pack would match the door handles but its pricey at 259. Would look the business though :)

Why oh why, do they still put pretend wood in a car!!! It just cheapens it

Probably because some people happen to like it. One of the advantages of ordering a new car - you can choose!

I now hate black interiors - had too many in the past. I now have a light grey interior. I don't like the standard Vivona wood trim but the Walnut is OK. With the SE Vivona is standard with the only options being Medial Aluminium silver finish or Walnut and the Walnut certainly looks better to my eyes that the Medial Aluminium. The Sport comes as standard with Brushed aluminium trim or the option of Black Piano trim.

Its weird, lots of different views on it. I'm only 19 and i hate it, I think its proper old man style. All my mates think the same. Where as my mum and the guys i work with love it. Apparently it's Classy :p I guess it depends on your age hehe. I wouldn't say it cheapens they look, more just that it doesn't go at all!

I'm looking at the pedals on vagparts.com now aswell. I have a feeling mass money will be spent soon :p

That's why car manufacturers offer various choices of trim and external colours, to suit all tastes. That way they sell more cars.
