Knowtised that when i first start my car in the mornings that its started to sound spluttery and when you come to pull away at say 1500rpm if u cruise down the road at them revs in 2nd gear for example the car jumps around like mad spluttering like mad.

But once the car has warmed up the extreme spluttering seems to dissapear and turn into what i can only discribe as a rumbling feeling but once u get above 2000rpm it all goes and the car feels very smooth??

The car is a 2000 1.8T with a jabba re-map with 72k on the clock and is getting an oil change and service next weekend.

I dont have vagcom and neither does anyone around me but there is a audi specialist in town who ive heard good things about so may take it to him and get it on vagcom there.

the course I took was coilpacks then plugs then throttlebodie cleaned and it worked (Audi said it needed a new ECU!???)
do your throttlebodie first as its free to clean

cleaned the throttle body about 2 or 3 months back but will check just incase its dirty again.

Plugs were new about 6 months back and they were bosch super 4's.

coolant temp. sensor as well craig

havnt fort of that as i wouldnt of fort the coolant sensor would cause these problems..........but now u say about it the coolant sensor may be a little odd as i can drive my car around for ages and the needle very rarely gets 90c its more around the 80c mark whereas i know for a certainty that it always used to get to 90c and never drop below.

Dude I've had the same issue (like most others on here!) Vag.com didn't pick up anything like a misfire so I ruled out coilpacks, the spark plugs were recently changed, as was the MAF, Cleaned the TB, Thermostat was replaced a little while ago so I was happy it wasn't that.

Then I finally changed the Green Temp Sender at the weekend and all has been good for the past few days especially on the cold days where before it would do it. Very easy fix, the old one was pretty much caked in black crap so that musn't have helped. For £20 it was a good buy.
