Wanted your advice if possible?

Mum's looking at a Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 its only got 55k on the clock and its up for 6,000 GBP.

Just wondered if any-one had one here before and what to look out for etc?

The guy at the garage is saying its having a new clutch at the moment? Im a bit weary of that as its only on 55k?

Thanks!

What year is it?

Alfa's are terrible for Cambelt problems

And electrical problems

And suspension problems

lol

Although i loved my 156 that i had for around maybe 6 months

But i got the impending feeling that somethign was gonna break, so sold it on.

Having said that i probably done about 15k in it relatively trouble free

Well she has a 156 at the moment had that around year and touch wood its been really good.

The GTV is 6k and its a 99/2000 But will low mileage and FSH.

Is that 3.0 V6 going to be something brutal? Or is it not that quick at all?

Shes had various cars in the past, R34 Skyline, 3.0 TT GTO, Fiat Coupe 2.0T,

Will the GTV be a disappointment?

Thanks

Your mum has had a R34 Skyline, 3.0 TT GTO & a Fiat Coupe 2.0T...

Good on her! Erm as for the topic on hand, i'm afraid not mate. I'll google it and see what I come up with for ya.

No it'll feel nice and swift, and they sound lovely.

my 2.0 156 had a good bit mroe go than a 1.8t A3 despite being 150bhp - so the 3.0 in a car the size of a GTV should be a real cracker of an engine.

It'll destroy fuel tho!

If your mum doesnt do very many miles then i'd say it's probably an ok buy, alfa's arent half as bad as they used to be, but they're also twice as hard to work on as practically any other car i know(barring anything french)

Funnily enough I'm just starting to look at V6 GTVs but I think I'm swaying dangerously towards getting a Spider for a bit of fun over the summer. Both are gorgeous motors. £6k sounds quite a bit for a GTV though, when you can pick up decent Spiders for that money.
