what do people think???
i'll explain i've washed my car today the amount of scratches and little chips over the whole car has got me depressed and thinking...

I'm going to get a full respray and with my bonus looking mighty fine for this year 12% of my salary this will cover a full change of colour respray and with thought of being able to go white with a black roof center, I am really tempted! the only thing putting me off is weather i would get any return for this paint job as it would be a rare one as i've only ever seen one other white 8L S3
I think I would also do some smoothing of the bumpers and paint the trim all black to contrast and then get monoblocks refurbed and painted black also.
or should I just forget the idea.

will be doing a photoshop tonight! :icon_thumright:

sounds tempting but won't white show every speck of dirt or scratches?
I see a new A3 sportline in white with the sky roof and it looks very very nice

Im in the same boat i intend after Having my new turbo and FMIC done in march to have the respray next.

Im having mine done in ibis white with a black roof.

Go for it!

Jason

i dont think you'll see much of a return, its just making it more desirable like extra options would, rarely do you get what you pay for these types of things unless you find a 1 in a million buyer that just happens to want your car IMO.

Note....Sheffield has/had several 1.8TQ's in white for the paramedics, not seen them for a while...anyone seen or heard? apparently they were remapped lol....

go white mate would look very nice, i just wished audi did the ibis white in the 8l... :(

how much have you been quote for the respray?

I dont think you would see much of a return ut it does not matter if you are planning on keeping the car for the long run..

White will look fantastic but only if the job is done properly - engine bay and everything - if your only planning on getting the outside done i would not bother...

Good luck if you go through with it..

without is better Si
Nice pic in PVW by the way

i was also planning that film that goes over the paint toprotect the car over the lower bumper and sills anyone had any expearience with that.

For a proper colour change job, I think you will do well to get change from
£3k. You need a complete strip down, motor out, even blow in the floor plan to do it properly. Its a lot of work. Surely you would do better just to respray in regular colour?

If anythign a colour change will devalue your car. People will think you had it painted cos you crashed it!!

but will i get any return???

Nope, you'll lose hand over fist. But you will have a white S3. A re-sprayed S3 is very different to an OEM white S3. And a full re-spray to a completely different colour is a huge job. And due to what's involved, its not something I'd recommend trying to get done cheaply.

Simch is probably right with £3k, maybe more.

I think if i had a white s3 i'd keep it completely oem from the outside

the guy left the black bits on my ibiza, heres a pic to gather what black and white will go like, and yes i know the arch extensions looked absolutely *****,

that photoshop looks really good.
am i right in saying you could get 8L S3
abroad in white.as for cost it aint going
to come cheap with out cutting corners
which im sure you wont.

Keep the black bits....white and black looks solid

Dont spray the mono blocks... either keep them how they are or refurb and sell... dont think they would suit being black... you wouldnt get a return for the respray... but you would get top price for your car when selling due too the rare colour

dont like those angel eyes, they make the car look cheap, and a bit like an a3, not an s3

So it, looks wicked with the black bits!!! also do the smoothing!!

not sure if the wheels fit though, black or polished...

Paint it Porsche Karminrot............
aka Hubba Bubba!
