Hi,

Anyone here 22 years old or even younger insured on an Audi S3? Price, Company, NCB? Area?
I will appreciate it if you could, need to start hunting for some Audi S3 quotes. Also which insurance companies are friendly with Audi S3's? I forgot and what Audi S3 it is, year and 210 or 225bhp?

Thanks

Solo

Elephant.co.uk are S3 and young driver friendly I was just over 25 when I insured mine last year and I was quoted around £640 (5yrs ncb and no points/convictions) which I thought was very good. Thats on a facelift 210bhp one but i was told there is no difference between either 210 or 225 insurance wise

is there no difference in performance between the 210 and 225

When you get to that sort of level of performance, I don't think 15bhp will matter that much .. I think the difference at that level will be knickability and they're both the same car looks wise /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Try audi's own brand insurance (they can only laff and say 'how young?'), very good prices and all repairs done at an audi main dealer repair centre, not some the cheapest place out there!

When i was diggin around for quotes, mainly online, with some companies there was upto a £400 pound difference between the 210 and 225 got quotes on both as it was border line which on i would end up with, most companies have the 210 in group 17 and the 225 in group 18!!!

so i got a facelift 210, best of both worlds /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

also adding my girlfriend reduced the premium by £90.

so in the end i got insured for £1070, aged 25 with 3 years NCB, and 1 claim, in a pretty bad area. Thats with Direct Line, try there online quote very quick and easy.

ive also heard liverpool victoria can be very good, but where really bad for me.

Mainly aimed at Richy I guess ( as he is in the buisness ), what sort of things can actually lower quotes ( apart from the obvious ). eg, above quotes adding girlfriend dropped the premium, others have mentioned say you park on a street, not on your driveway ( as a driveway gives more cover to thieves ), and state you are married with children ( assuming you are ) - even if it doesn't ask ( more likely to drive responsibly ).
Any others?

I'm 19 with zero no claims bonus

Tescos = £7000 fully comp
Adrian Flux = £5000 fully comp
Prestige = £3000 fully comp

Only thing thats stopped me from buying an S3, if I could get insurance for less than 2k today I would be driving an S3 tomorrow.

Pete.

My quote was £387 fully comp with protected no claims. I am a little longer in the tooth than you guys, but this was from sainsburys. Can't hurt to try them. However, my S3 is modified, can anyone recommend any companies that deal with the modified market.
Ess_three, my mods are similar to yours, can you recommend (only not as lovingly applied as yours) can you recommend anyone

Not with me they werent

not with me either on my focus when i had it... they were not bothered about the size of the wheels just the cost if it was below 2k!

and didnt care about the suspension... ended up been £300 cheaper than anywhere else.. although i wouldnt want to claim with them.....

Strange world Insurance. For the past 5 years I've been insured through AXA Direct. Each year when I receive my renewal notice, I log on to the web-site, get an online quote for exactly the same cover on my A3 1.8T and the quote is cheaper than the renewal. This year for instance my renewal is £353.48 and the online quote is £309.40. So I just cancel my existing policy and take out a new one.

I'm sure they work on the basis that a lot of people will just renew as it easier and requires a little less work. At this rate AXA will be paying me soon !

my 1.8TQ cost me £548 and when I told them about the wheels and chip it went up approx £300

HI guys
When i insured my car i enquired about mods they told me there would be no insceace in premium i just need to tell them what has been done. My mate also uses them he has a 200sx which is running 300bhp and they didnt charge any extra which with an extra 100bhp is a fair amount more on standard. My P reg T Sport full comp 4 years ncd 30 years young £498 dont bother with breakdown cover for extra £65 as it only a recovery truck so rather get AA/RAC cover instesd
The company is insure shop 01773 530161
Hope this is some help
cheers Paul /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

David, I was with axa and they did exactly the same thing to me! the renewal was more than a fresh quote (online), and if i called them the quote usually dropped around £10/15 than the online quote! bizarre! anyway they couldn't beat Admiral for the tsport and all it's modds - £720 althogether, but then i decided to go for protected NNC as it's gonna be 5 years NC I'm building up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif so it works out a lil extra each month, but I can live with it - just!

Right
I re-insured my S3 yesterday. Please take into account that I'm 31 years old with 9 years NCB and 3 points. I've also included my girlfriend on the policy. Also my job makes my insurance more expensive as apparently it classifies me as having unsound mind (I'm a parachute instructor)
Car is a 99 S3 with 19" alloys, APR chip, fully uprated suspension, DV and SS exhaust. I declared it all. The best quote I got was £508 including protected NCB from Directline. Most ranged from £550 to £700. The highest was Adrian Flux at £1300.
So for me Direct Line are this years winners and get awarded a fat cheque for their efforts.
Cheers
