Upgraded fuel pump internals for 2.0 TFSi

Honestly, I'd just purchase the whole pump assembly from APR and get it installed by their dealer. Touch wood, but this seems like an invitation to the blaming game if anything goes wrong.

This is in our development schedule, we're looking at the feasibility of doing a Stage2+ on regular K03 TFSI cars and then a proper Stage2 for the S3, Cupra, and Edition 30. There's a huge price difference between offerings as far as we've seen, however we've done some work with the autotech pump.
If you have a full exhaust, intake and put a fuel pump on we can have a look at it!

BTW, I was in touch with a vag-sg (singapore) member, and here's a screen shot.

So...do we (s3 guys) really need the fuel pump upgrade? I dont know yet, but it certainly is a mod I wont rush into. These singaporeans are running stage 3 and have not seen the need for it, while some golf gti with just a remap/chip are facing fuel cuts. Do we have different fuel pumps? Or has MTM been able to overcome this fuelcut issue? It certainly boggles the mind.

Anyone with a vag-com and a remap can easily log actual vs requested fuel rail pressure and decide if they really need it. More info available on vwortex's 2.0T forum.

I know the pump on an ed30 gti has the same pt no as the standard gti one.
So I would think the S3 has the same. I've had this fuel cut in my mapped GTi, but only when low on fuel.

Chris.

It seems as if all the pumps are the same (KO3 and KO4 equipped motors) , just the cam lobe that actuates the pump is different.

oooo....this looks interesting.

Yes, S3 fitment is on the cars for 2nd 1/4 2008 - the AWD fitment will be initially done here in Australia & prototype parts sent to the US.

We already have the Golf kits in stock & the first RHD fitment has been carried out & we have clearance without modification. (on the AWD version the downpipe / exhaust downturn is the main alteration).

With the extra internal strength available on the S3 our initial guestimate on power output is 315 - 320kw on 98 ron fuel.

If all goes smoothly this will be carried out in the March tuning trip to the UK - which we also hhope to have the high flow fuel pump file for the S3 finished as well!

300kw is nearly 400hp isnt it? sounds like 300whp isnt too far away :)

Kev, have you guys managed to get cracking on that Stage 2 map yet? I have fitted the Forge intake which saw my car gain +-15Kw at the wheels:icon_thumright: My car without the intake made 188Kw at the wheels which I found quite impressive considering I only have REVO stage 1. The car now makes 203kw ATW:hubbahubba: I would like to do a 76mm exhaust and have the fuel pump fitted but will only do this if you guys have a map ready. Please let me know or if possible let Will Glibbery know so that we can get cracking:rockwoot:

You can fit the pump and exhaust without having the map on there... numerous people have done it, although no one has brought a car in to us yet! In fitting the pump you can run the higher boost settings, turn the fuel down a little to richen up the mixture and run a little more timing. Well worthwhile!
Most people that have been upgrading the pump have been doing the autotech internals.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Will I not have issues with the car overboosting? 76mm zorst?
