My A3 is in the country! How long will it take to get on the road?

Basically as the title says....got told today my car is in the UK.....almost a full month earlier than intended !!!!!!!!!

The car will be delivered to my local dealer within the next 5 days.....once it's there, how long does it take to get it on the road???

I have a private plate on my current A3 to be transferred (they know about this)...will that delay things any?

It depends on how quickly the dealer can PDI the car, with the Fords we have delivered they tend to PDI them the day they go out or the day before, from it arriving at the dealer to being handed over it relly should be the same week or no more than 5 days, it just depends on how busy they are.

With the private plate, I "thought" they could do this near enough instantly, they put the plate on retention and then transfer it to the new car. The only possible delay would be if your dealer won't take you PX until the V5 document returns from the DVLA ( this will be sent off when your plate is put on retention )
 
Didn't you order a Lava Grey 170 TDI sline?? (my memory surfacing)

Make sure put some pics up after you collect it!:icon_thumright:

Thanks.....cant wait to get it now! even though it wasn;t even due in the uk until week beginning nov 12th!

I'm not doing a part exchange so hopefully that will make things smoother......

Hi....

Yes, the guy in Norway!!

Lava grey it is! I photograph cars for a living yet I never once in the 4years of owning my current A3 took a single 'pro' shot of it!!! However, I intend to spend a few hours with the new one and get some nice snaps that I will happily post up when I get a chance......

P.S. I couldn't find the post where we discussed the Norway thing before....where is it you are again? Did I tell you I was back over recently working for Performance Ford and Retro Ford? We shot some cars and did a show at the Rudskogen track (where 'Gatebil' is held)....

One of the cars I shot is on the cover of Retro Ford out now....an 835bhp Cossie powered Zakspeed mk2 Escort! It's Jenspeed's car (do you know of them?).....mental!!!!
 
Hehe, I have to confess ... I just moved to Norway a year ago, don't know much about things here. I do know the magazine you are talking about though.

I live 20mins outside Oslo.

Ah, that sounds familiar, think you told me that before! Hey, the Rudskogen track isn't too far from you then. I was being driven around and have a bad memory so can't tell you exactly where it is but get yourself along the the 'Gatebil' shows at the track as they are mad! Rather than drive around the track in the fastest possible time, the Norwegians prefer to have stacks too much power (eg 650bhp Sierra Cossies usually tuned by Jenspeed) and basically slide sideways, drifting around as much of the track as possible!

How you getting on with the language? I was there a total of 5 years and know just a tiny bit! It's so hard to learn as there are so many variations in dialect plus they all love speaking English!
 
Just started learning some Norwegian now, not an easy language to learn, that goes for any language I guess. Norwegians love to practice their English so in return I get little practice myself.

My work requires almost no Norwegian.
