Hi all I am looking to purchase an in car dvd player with 2 x 7" tft screens, I do alot of travelling with my two little ones so decided to take the plung.
But I don't want one of those that just straps around the head rest, can anyone recommend firstly where to buy the kit, and secondly someone in the northwest to fit the tft screens into my headrests?
Cheers

id reccomend the alpine kit
its not the cheapest by a long way but its very very versatile and more importantly has a good picture
there are literally hundreds of cheap tft screens to be had but most are a nightmare to fit in headrests or wont even fit correctly

i would also consider a single roof mount instead of head rest option
as some of the audi head rests are very difficult to install in

try source of sheffield 0114 2571550
about a minute off junction 35a of the m1

depends on whether or not its a saloon or an avant

saloon you remove the surrounding interior trim and pull down the headlining to install the cables on either side but passeneger side is usually easier on most audis

avant the same method can be used as above but you have to be really carefull not to bend or crease the rooflining
i would advise the best method is to remove the headlining completely
and then re-install with everything fitted

XXX be extra carefull on models fitted with sunroofs to make sure there is enough clearance for the sunscreen to clear the parts xxx

I went down the same route, having young kids and wanting peaceful journies!!

I purchased an 8" roof mounted screen with a single din DVD player fitted into the glovebox, the audio was sent to the car speakers and the video was also piped through to the RNS-E screen.

Here's a few pics of the install

The install was carried out by s8craig in Manchester.

Hi, nice install, I like the DVD player especially. Do you mind me asking what make and model it is? As I'm thinking about something like this to fit next to my CD Changer in the glovebox.

Cheers,

Rich

No I live in Liverpool :)

Wallacr - not sure mate I'll have to check, I'll find out tomorrow and post details.

The player and screens only cost £300 though, fairly reasonable I thought
