seen as i havent been ***** to update the thread in a while thought id get back on track...
well the clutch went @ pod hence a comedy 15.9 run LMAO will i ever live that down...
so in went a stage 1 organic clutch along with a new slave cylinder, master cylinder and a new passenger front driveshaft just for good measure...

so on with some more intresting bits..
it was about time i got my **** in gear dropping the car a bit so i thought id go for a basic opener to see what difference some springs would make..

-30mm eibach vs std s3 rear
took a couple of hours but the end result (this pic is after 800miles)
DSC00321.jpg

as the new clutch has gone in it bites a little harder so i thought id combat the roll with a polybush an excellent mod to all g4/tt/a3
DSC00308.jpg

around 20mins all in to fit well worth the effort
also added a bit of silicon and carbon

some new bits ive been doin (not that many are intrested but helps me blog lol)
decided to get a few interior bits sorted
so added a momo top power 300mm and a richbrook knob
then took a trip to SG Styling (Unit One Long Close Works, Dolly Lane, Leeds, LS9 7TU.. 07836368971)(cheers for the tip VICK) to get some trim work done as the interior was a bit drab IMO so got him to cover the pillars and the armrest make me a new gaiter and do me engine covers.. went for alcantra as something a bit different to leather and in the timescale i gave it was a case of what was in the workshop..ill let you see the pics will be off back there soon for headlining bits of the dash doing and some new front seats

nice to see all these additions. Admittedly surprised by how low it is on the Eibachs, i take it you are running 18" RS6s'? Not sure about the alcantara not to my taste still each to their own put am interested in where you will hook up the gauges.

Oh nice!!!!

Your intercooler looks like mine, whos is it?

Our own a guy down south makes them for me then we fabricate up the pipes...

cheers dave power ahoy!

jesters3 - guage mounts and hook ups ill show in time, ai im hit and miss on the alcantra but it looks good in life so am happy... yes its on 18" rs6

Actually, looking at it again yours is smaller, and shinier.

That sounds wrong ;-)

you say this is an easy mod, is this the dogleg bush everyone goes on about? where abouts is it located, and how do you go about changing it?

cheers

very easy jack front end up.. on s3 (cant remember on others) theres a little brace accross the subframe thats boltable its above that! to fit simply remove that mini brace and undo the bolt out the gearbox end then the two at subframe end. Then take dogbone out, once out undo the bolt on the dogbone (self explanatory as its only one pull off rubber and replace with poly then reverse the process

i thought the GT28RS was only good for about 330bhp max though? or is the gt2871RS something different to the turbo chriS3 is running?

awesome stuff mate, going all out with the forged internals and everything!

The motor build will be interest but sorry to have to ask....what were you thinking with the interior mods......!!
Richbrook ally gear nob.......its not 1996 you know!!
and the alcantara light grey pillars look a bit odd IMO wiht the black headlining.
Oh, and the sunvisors look like your granny did them, look at that seam visible in the photo....!

Steering wheel......eeek

The one thing you cannot really fault audi for on most fof their cars is the interior........a few subtle additions maybe but I dont like what you have done there at all!!

Also, your intercooler looks awfully small for a 400+hp BT tbh? You sure that will be big enough?

Smaller intercoolers run fine on 450+ in Cali, so I'd imagine that'd be OK.

Mind, it depends how efficient the pipework and core is. If you have a forge, then it needs to be bigger than the air condensor to actually make the intake temps colder, but throw some decent pipework into the mix and you can get away with very small cores. I've seen figures from cars with this size core sucessfully running high HP figures.

that turbos capable of just under 500 according to calculations :) its all about exhaust housings etc

LMAO not one for subtle opinions?

imo the audi interior is very drab and needed a lift the rest of the headlining is being covered after edition38. Visors if trimmed will always have a stitch line otherwise you cant cover them. Richbrook ally gearknob = much cheaper than a new s3 one as it was well worn that and it was on the shelf. Wheel its all about euro style mate some get it some dont :) one thing to have an opinion another to slate.

And yes the cooler will be plenty large enough :)

I love the car and your work! What benefit in terms of bhp would I get with your exhaust and tubular header? I have a stock car, non-chipped. Also do you sell that alloy gear knob, its neat and mine is worn. How easy or difficult is it to replace.

By the way I am looking for a set of 18" RS6's to replace my 19"ers. Are yours for sale?

the 18s are staying im afraid daily wheels :) exhaust wise we saw a gain of around 8-9bhp over stock (awaits esthree) on rollers @ blackpool.

Header wise for the fitting times etc a map would prove a wiser investment for the cost. Replacing the header (manifold) to an equal length one would equate to around a 15bhp gain.

Dom,
Still waiting on a pm regarding exhaust matey,,,

Looks good,

but please change the steering wheel back to the audi one, it reminds me of max power :(

otherwise, everything else looks good :)

nah mate the wheels staying i thought some of the styling would be not to you guys tastes :) audi one is a bit big for me and a wee bit bland must be the inner boy racer breaking out:shutup2:

more updates;

this is taken from a post on another forum by a friend..
Final results is ported small port head has a 4% gain over the exhaust side of a big port when taken over the whole range with an increased average velocity for quicker spool up. The intake gains 5.1% across the full lift range over the standard big port head again a noticeable incresease in velocity which should give you stable afr readings on your mapping. Long and short you got hp capabilities exceeding a big port with torque and throttle response of small port. Can't really go much further on the intake side of things as you are already exceeding the flow capability of the small port intake by over 12% at peak lift which should hopefully be helped (counteracted by) with the increased volume plenumb chamber you are running.

Anyways here's your picies as promised
