Need to replace the rear arb on my A4 avant .Was just wondering if the rs4 arb (22mm i think )is a worth while upgrade on my front wheel drive car or is it better suited to the quattro's .I also noticed from an old post quoting part no's that it was a b7 arb would this still fit my 2002 b6.

cheers Ali

The B7 RS4 RARB is a very good mod for your B6.
This is the one i got next to my standard one.

cheers james0808 was your car 2 wheel drive .still not sure if i should just go with the 20mm s4 one .Family car you see don't want the back stepping out with the slightest lift off the gas (esp. in the wet)
or am i thinking the difference will be more dramatic than it actually will be
any advice welcome cheers:icon_thumright:

Even with the 22mm RS4 ARB the A4's such a heavy old lump you're NOT going to have any tail happy moments.

If you're going to do it just go RS4, you really wont regret it for a second.

Been reading this thread, fancy doing this myself.

3 Questions:

1. Where can i get hold of one of these?
2. How much are we looking at?
3. are they pretty simple to fit?

Cheers!!

My question is what difference will the RS4 version actually provide?

Very easy to do.
£90 delivered from vag-parts.
Your car will not roll as bad when cornering and A4's roll bad.

Edited due to crap spelling.

I just got the set from vag-parts £67 delivered the other week, going to fit it soon. Remember to mention "Tyresmoke" for a discount.

Also check out the RS4 ARB thread on Tyresmoke as a chap has pointed out some different part numbers over some of the originals banded around (I've ordered using these new part numbers and I can confirm they are fine).

I need one of these........... cabrio's roll bad!

This thread is very appropriate today so comes in very handy. My Avant was in for its first MOT today and failed on a corroded rear ARB. Cant believe a 3 year old car can be so corroded but there you go. Newcastle Audi were wanting £185 for replacing it with a standard one but seemed a little clueless when I asked about an RS4 ARB.
If I have to replace mine anyway it seems foolish not to go for the upgrade.

tried to order rs4 arb from glasgow audi, first of the guy said it wouldn't fit then said he can't order it without an rs4 chassis no.that's got to be the first time i've been in there and they didn't want to take money from me .think i'll try vag parts next

Think I'll give VAGparts a go too, just grabbed the part no's from Tyresmoke. Gonna have a look at the one thats on the car first though to make sure the stealers weren't trying to pull a fast one saying it needed doing. They were trying to tell me an advisory on the MOT meant I needed new tyres until I menioned I used to work for VOSA and they gave up.
