:( polished the S3 - spotted loads of rust

Hmmm Thames Valley Accident Repair haven't cured my orange peel. They haven't bothered wet n drying it. They just polished it a bit more.... :|

damn it! just gave my '99 A3 a good clean for the first time in ages, rather than a quick jetwash off, and found rust bubbles on both roof channels and one rear arch.

Going to drop into the dealer tommorrow, but the car has the front wing and door repaired before on the side with the rusty arch, i beleive they re-laquered the whole side.

The repair work was done by the audi dealer who sold the car when new and is the same one i will go back to.

What do you reackon my chances are? surely if the repair is done by an audi approved bodyshop it should still be under warranty?
thanks for any help!

of course it will be...... if it was done by audi, its theyre problem.....

i found that theyre not really too bad with approving warranty work, as long as your not too pushy (seems to annoy them!) they will approve it in the end.

had to take mines to audi glasgow (Braehead) today as i found some Zinc blisters just behind the passengers door as it goes onto the the rear arch.

guy was very good and helpfull. he says it should be covered under the warranty and hel get back asap.

fingers crossed

Well would u adam and eve it! Audi arent accepting this as a warranty issue. have also had paint defect report sent to mike reid at audi technical department who has also knocked back the warranty claim.

saying zinc blistering is an issue with the paintwork warranty not the anit corrosion one. Sod buying another audi. i had an 8 year old punto Gt with not a mark on it.

gutted for you matey,

seems bizzare how some have got through and not others - wonder what audi would say to it all.

you should keep pushing for a result. if not, check your roof channels, they will more than likely have corrosion in, and they will HAVE to honour that at least, but if it's in for that, you may be able to swing it

Dont know how much further i can push. Or how much higher i can go? As for my roof channells they are spotless. just this one tiny area of zinc blistering thats giving me the grief.

Oh well. i've got a small car aprk ding on the same panel any how so i'l just get it tidied up in one go. out of my own pocket mind u!

Reading this thread I can't believe how much Audi have changed approving all of these claims.

I was the first big pusher to get the work done (See my sticky at the top of the forum) It took me literally months of phone calls, 3 * separate independent assessments from Audi approved body shops and still got told that the work wasn't covered, as there had been no other faults reported to Audi!. I ended up getting a £200 good will gesture!

Looks like there have been quite a few since that is why they are approving it!

Exactly what they told me! and look who hasn't bought another Audi!

Guys - took the car to the stealer today to be resprayed on the roof and wings, and came up trumps. The dips**t sales advisor I booked it in with said he'd order me a courtesy car but didn't, so instead of driving some bodyshops' Ford Ka I have a 2007 A4 2.7 Multitronic TDI fro three days, and it has some serious poke in it!

Turned out as a test drive for me, as it's the same car as I have just ordered as a company car, just not an S-Line. :)

Sorry to bump this from a week ago but I have spoken to the guys at Pentagon too halegavin and they didnt seem keen to do any work, I reckon they are fobbing you off. I was quoted £1000 for work to the rear arch and they said I was better off taking it else where. Take the service book to him halegavin and tell him the warranty specifically says that work will not be carried out if the corrosion has resulted from the use of non-genuine Audi parts for bodywork repairs, which it was'nt, the roof hasnt been touched. Gits.

Just for ref, when mine was done i had to pay for the entire rear panel doing (rusty arch) because it had been repaired before and not in mine or audis history.

it cost me £320. thats sanding back treating and sealing then respraying.

At least you have your car back guys, I've been waiting for 8 days now, Audi decided to go the cheap route and not replace the roof rain gutter but try and refit the old, which the bodyshop refused to do. So after much argument and eliberation, Audi agreed to foot the bill and it eventually comes back tomorrow all going well. Fingers crossed :)

I've still got to get around to sending in a complaint email to Audi so they can get an independant paint consultant to look at my orange peel. The bodyshop refuse to fix it and Audi said they need independant advice before having a barny at the bodyshop.

Jokers - amazing that you have to go to these lengths to get them to do something. I'm still waiting for my car to come back - 10 days now and counting and unlikely to be back until tomorrow now........
