I had my renewal through from Churchill yesterday at £830 which is pretty much what I paid last year, so I did some shopping around and got a smashing quote from Privilege for £540. I called Churchill, deciding to go ahead and "Challenge Churchill" only to find their claim about beating quotes is a load of rubbish.

Apparently because RBS own Churchill, Privilege and Direct Line they're not allowed to compete with each other. The chap on the phone admitted that it's a load of crock and his advice was to "go with Privilege because it doesn't make any difference to us"

An extra bonus is that Privilege don't charge any interest at all if you pay monthly  unlike other companies that shark you for 20%+ So now I'm Privileged; where do I queue up to get with Joanna Lumley ;)

Recently renewed the insurance on my S3 for £500.05p fully comp with Admiral

Hastings direct quoted me £1700 :wtf:

Admiral/Elephant/Bell all seem happy to quote against each other even though they are all the same company. I seem to be yo-yoing between Admiral and Elephant each year.

Worth adding a female named driver with a good driving history - I added a friend who cut another £30 or so off.

Tried something new this year with the multi-car policy from Admiral. I paid £399.13 with mods declared. Would have only have been about £330 for a standard car. Interestingly, on multi-car, the Ibiza is about £40 more expensive than insuring it on its own, but this is more than offset by the additional discount I get on the Audi (£70 from memory).

did you try www.insuresupermarket.co.uk ?

it searches all companies for you , 2 years ago i managed to cut my renewal in half through them. you got a good price @ 540
Yep, the best they did was about £700. I also tried confused.com and they were useless; the cheapest quote they came back with was about £800. I've never had any luck with those sort of sites.

Just insured mine with Elephant for £188, could have got it for £179 but took the guaranteed no claims option.
I also seem to insure between Admiral and Elephant, when I called Admiral to see if they could match the quote (they quoted me £250 to re-insure) the guy said Elephant were offering "aggresive" pricing this year.

Weird thing is to insure the partner's VW Polo was £119 and it's a group 4.

I'm the same ive been jumping between the admiral group every year - elephant and bell were near identical this year but i changed to bell as elephant took away my third party other car cover wtf????

When i asked they said i should never have had it as i was under 25 - so what the hell would have happened if i got stopped or had an accident in another car, hopefully as it was written on my policy nothing, but u cant be too careful with insurance companies, bunch of crooks

With a flexi-bell you can add on driving other cars! you just get a basic policy and add on what u want! its not the cheapest but if you do drive other peoples cas and are under 25 its the only option imo
