Hey guy's,

a simple q, can you buy/fit a rear bumper skirt for an a3 bumper that has a cut out for a twin exhaust, s3 style? Thinking of fitting an aftermarket exhaust, however i don't want to cut into the original skirt (for re-sale purposes), but im not too sure how good the exhaust would look sat under the bumper with no cut out! I figured you guys would have a good idea, any pic's would be greatful!

Thanks,

Rick

p.s. What job's do you guys have??ha . . . just kidding!!

I have been told that you can buy the grey insert and the lower half of the S3 bumper seperately.

The insert is about £40, not sure about lower half of the bumper.

It would look better than cutting your own bumper or having an aftermarket exhaust sticking out the back.

cheers guys, that has given me some idea, MR. Imola S3, where can you buy the grey plastic insert (£40)?, im still undecided weather to add an exhaust at all, i don't know weather it will ruin the subtle look of a3's, for as many reasons i can think of putting one on, i can think of as many not to!ha . . decisions decisions!!

any one know if there is any truth in thr rumour that all tints will be banned sone from the front pillar foreward? again that was another maybe on the list of things to do!

My A3 1.8 T Sport with Scorpion STW exhaust, fits under bumper so no need to cut it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think miltek offer the option of a non visable exhaust pipe as per the standard unit but obviously with the benefits of a performance box, which is what I'm considering.......or twin exit pipes like those of the A4's and R32. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Or you could do as i have , get an S3 rear bumper from a scrappy , £50 ! bargain - then you have a cutout for a custom back box - keep your rear bumper and standard exhaust and swop over when you sell. Flog the bumper and back box on here when the cars gone. simple!

I may be wrong, however I thought the S3 exhaust backbox took a slightly different route and therefore won't fit?

Cheers for the help guys,

i'm still undecided, if an s3 bunber lign's up, both with the exhaust exit and the rear arches (aren't s3's more "arched"??) then that would be tempting, or even a a3 bumber from the scrap that a can just take the lower plastic insert off! for know though i don't want to cut into the original for re-sale purposes, and im still not a big fan of having the exhaust sat under the insert! time to start phoning the scrap yards me thinks, are there any audi speacilist breakers you guy's know off?

Cheers,

Rick

The s3 has a different exhaust route than an a3t but not an a3 TQ , which is what i have, not much work is involved to move it if you need to though ! And yes the arches are a lot more flared on an s3 however the flare falls away as you get to the rear bumper which means it fits any A3 perfectly.!
