IF GLOWPLUGS ARE STAYING ON,WOULD: 1. CAR USE MORE FUEL?
2. WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS?

ALSO IF INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE SENSOR IS FAULTY,WHAT WOULD THIS CAUSE?

A4 1.9 TDI -PD 2001 (B6)

If the plugs stay on it would not use any more fuel at all, it would wear out the glow plugs. They should only come on for a few seconds, when you put in the key and when you open the door getting into the car.The intake manifold sensor which is on top of the intercooler would make the car a bit slower a tiny bit smokey but not obvious and drink diesel. This happened to me a few wks ago the car just goes to a set setting on the ecu as it cant measure the correct pressure ,the bumper will need to come off i think.I got away with just taking out the passenger headlight but mine is 2.5 so what makes tou think this sensor is gone faulty.Have you checked your diesel cooler under the car for leaks.or exhaust for cracks or damage:idea:

done everything! 26/27 mpg driven steady. new maff, coolant sensor, all pipes checked for splits,no leaks,no fault codes. Car has brilliant performance, just drinks alot of diesel. Did yours drive/run ok? also how did you find out it was your manifold pressure sensor? mine is a 1.9 tdi, sensor located on intake pipe, near bulkhead.

WHAT WERE YOU GETTING TO THE GALLON?

CANT SEE ANY,ANYWHERE. NOTHING ON FLOOR OR ENGINE BAY:confused:
