McAfee does the job for me. Had no problems with it as of yet. There are plenty to choose from though....

your best off with a hardware one such as a netgear. they also replace your modem and give you wifi if you like.
Im not a fan of software firewalls. some tend to add a fair bit of overhead to the pc, and or them ****** anoying popups.
if you must then get zone alarm. its free

Amongst other things, i use a hardware firewall for incoming, and a simpler version of Zone Alarm Pro as an extra layer + to deal with outgoing security.
