Ok so im driving home, usual crap rush hour journy.

its dual carrage way all way home and you normally get tits hanging in the outside lane etc.

anyways tonight there was a bit of a gap in the traffic once one of them pulled in so i put my toe down to put a smile on my face.

i noticed im my rear view that a guy in a puma on the inside lane had taken both hands off the wheel to clap sarcasticly to me :S whats all that about. seem to have seen a fair bit of 'gesjures' since i got my S3. didnt think i was being a nobber, just put me toe down to go past everyone.

:wtf:

I'd just put it down to jealousy mate. Don't let it get to you, makes you as bad as them then.

is that what it is?

its ****** wierd

yes jealousy

just laugh it ****** them off even more

Do see some wierd stuff on dual c's these days. Anyone seen this driving a12 Chelmsford I was in outside lane some bloke behind held on his main beams everytime he overtook slower traffic????!!!!:wtf: Made him look like he was letting traffic out not overtaking....Never seen it before.

lol not seen that before only people flashing people to say get out of the way.

i had some wierd experiances behind someone doing 30 in the outside lane when the inside lane is empty.. get frustrated waiting for em to pull over so i undertake and they flash or flick V's at you..

whats all that about, move over you dumb f**ker

Don't get me started, then there's middle lane drivers.........

When they flick V's, i always look confused at them, like what does that mean! lol

Then they get ****** and use the correct gesture, the middle finger!! ;)

Simple things for simple people..

Educate don't tolerate thats what i say! ;)

Puma, thats built on a fiesta chassis! Do they make them any more?! lol

2nd that, Jealously!

Had a right tosser pull out on me on the M1 yesterday, I was coming up the outside lane, just about to overtake this escort in the middle lane and... he pulls out on me - had to slam my brakes on hard. He then takes his time overtaking the car that he was stuck behind, pulls over eventually, I give him a right dirty look and he starts waving his fist at me. Complete tosser - hopefully he'll check his mirror next time :p

great storys, think we all been there.

i cant say i ever hand gestured like they do, always been looks for me too... must take a particular type of person i guess.

Haha, I had one the other day. Same story as above but a middle lane drive pulls into fast lane to "overtake" somone without checking their mirrors. I have to slam on the anchors, but as this raged me I stayed on his **** so he got the hint that I was there first and making a lot more headway than this ****** clio I think it was. Drive past and he's gesturing at me as if I was in the wrong?! sorry mate if you had simply checked your mirrors and waited 2 seconds I wouldnt of been forced to sit on your **** :p

Actually I'm quite bad reacting to road rage I think :p

IMO people make mistakes and generally speaking I just let it go as life too short.

However about 9 years ago, I got a lift with a couple of scaffolder mates from my old workplace, these are ****** big guys, power lifters and doormen...

…anyhow, coming off the A1 the driver slightly cut up a Vauxhall Cavalier, realised what he had done and put his hand up to apologise to the driver.

The driver of the cavlier put his foot down and pulled in front of us doing about 70, then kept hitting the brakes and giving the v's.
This went on for literally 5 minutes, we slowed down and gave him room, but he kept on braking.. eventually he took off.

Then we hit the first set of traffic lights and it turns out he had stopped a few cars ahead of us, Our driver and mate of mine called Jamie (6’3 & 19 stone) got out of the car walked over to the “road rager” reached through the open window and dragged the driver through his seatbelt, through the window and onto the road, he then very calmly apologised for cutting him up but let him know just how close he was to getting a proper good hiding…

I don’t condone this, but I still laugh till my sides hurt now when I think back to that blokes face.

Mirrors, Signal, Manoeuvre! ;)

Simples skills lacked by most middle lane drivers!! lol

Next time you see them clapping without having control of the wheel, slam the anchors on and see how they react... soon stop clapping pretty quickly!

Hahahaha...i can see the look now. lol

I was hammering down the fast lane when some c*ck snot in a clio pulled out on me...Slammed the brakes on, and flashed my high beams to let him know he was a toss bag... The guy in the passenger seat turned around and starred so my girlfriend just started waving in a friendly manner at him...was very effective and pretty funny as it confused the hell out of them. THey then pulled over and got passed at a great rate of knots.

Driving on the A55 2 days ago 50mph dual carrage way. Was in the outside crusing at 50 with cars infront and behind, when in the inside lane a van starts to slow down, i notice this and decide whether to slow down but guy behind was pretty close. Anyways an oldguy (80ish) in a ****** micra pulls directly out into my lane my gf is like ****!!! i slam on and pull as far right as poss. 3 cars in two lanes!!!! if he wasnt driving a micra he would of taken me out. I drove past on the horn and just stared at him, he didnt even ******* indicate!! and just carry on his merry little way 2cm away from the steering wheel.

Had another close miss, 4/5months ago, driving back on a dual carrageway 70mph but its cut up with a few traffic lights as there are lots of joining roads. I was cruising in the outside lane at roughly 65mph and i coming up to some traffic lights, i noticed a punto in the inside lane at a stand still at the lights, i slowed down as they were still on red but cud tell they were changing so as they changed i shifted down and sped back up. Well 10 ft away from the lights this punto pulls out, ZERO indication no mirrors, i pretty much emergency stopped and so did the guy behind me i pulled up and just nudged bumpers!!! she didnt even speed up!! ive got a 1cm scratch on my front bumper still. I pulled over and an old woman 60/70 and man got out. Well i went ballistic and the old man was trying to say i was speeding!!!!! well the woman admitted she was wrong and i got her details. the guy behind pulled over and said he would back me up anyway. GOD i hate old people!!! -- Rant over.

You can't get the **** with old people, its rude! They are unaware of what they are doing and won't realise if its right or wrong.

I wait till i see the driver and react accordingly, since i don't want to scare a little old lady in to an early grave! In 30 years my driving will be no doubt rubbish, and i would hate someone giving my grandma abuse.

People over the age of 65 should have there liscenses revoked as they get a free bus pass at that age!

Think of the help it would do to the climate!!!

Either that or just cull them, im not bothered?! :)

that is of course unless it's this old age pensioner!

There is hope, if this government proposal to Tag Demntia Sufferers is implemented.

You could get a real-time feed on your SatNav or "Safety Camera" detector to warn you that you might have to slam the anchors on in the next 100 yards ;)

Cheers,

Mark.

Pretty much sums it up, they are a danger on our roads. watch southpark "grey dawn" and you'll understand.

So what your saying is I wait will i see if they have grey hair and wrinkles i should slow down? wtf are u going on about. I didnt give her abuse, i said "YOU NEARLY KILLED ME!" (which she did.) " ARE YOU CRAZY PULLING OUT THERE WITHOUT SIGNALLING". Thats how serious it is. I couldnt give a **** if she was old, what she did was horrifically dangerous and could of ended alot worst. Dont run some ******** guilt trip about ur granny, likewise i wouldnt expect someone to shout at my mine but in the same breath my gran doesnt drive - As she has very bad eye sight......

He's driving a hairdressers car...enough said

chrisnic0 that was just my view, no way in reference to your little story!

I just believe that you can't get the **** with old people, they are unaware and having a go at them it not going to change how they drive. :sorry:

I know it was just your view mate, but to be honest if there not aware,as you say, then they shouldn't be on the road!!!

Confused, I am aware that they shouldn't be on the road! I have no way said it was ok for them to be on the road, but they are on the roads! So give them space and understand that their diving habits will not change and getting the **** with them won't help.

(i do not have any powers to remove them from our roads, just for the record ;) )

How was it not reference to my story exactly?
Stop going on about getting the **** with them!! SHE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OUT ME ON A DUAL CARRAGEWAY WITH NO SIGNAL. Didnt get an "****" with her, just said "what the **** are you doing?"

Well its just my Opinion, in your case it sounds like you had the right to be ******. No doubt she did pulled another stupid manoeuvre a few minutes later, but thats not going change whether you get upset with them or not!

:bye:

I always respect OAPs,someday if we are lucky enough we'll be one

Not sure if I'd go as far as to say old folk should be off the road, but I think its perfectly viable to have to re-sit your test every once in a while. All my work quals have to be re-done on a periodic basis, just to make sure I can still do my job. Why not make people do the test at 65?

I was side-swiped on the motorway by a guy in his 80s. He accused me of speeding as I "must have been going at nearly 70mph". He thought the speed limit was 40mph, so he was doing 35mph. Just as I got to him he pulled into my lane. No mirrors, no signal, just in a world of his own.

It has nothing to do with respect mate, I have the upmost respect for my elders. im 23 btw. But as you get older you start to slow down and I aggree with ChriS3 a re-test should be manditory.

I know what your saying Jampublic, can we kiss and make up ? :friends:

less of the mate then if you respect your elders...son

chrisnic0 i think you just needed a rant and you have it out of your system now! ;)

As ChriS3 said a re-test later in life would be sensible! :icon_thumright:

All chilled here! No stress :friends:

I would be - I'd be out of a job. Agree with the compulsory re-test. Not just for elderly drivers either, just less frequently for those under a certain age.

When I have a "difference of opinion" with other drivers my favourite gesture is to pout, wink, and blow them a kiss Kenny Everett style. It's hilarious seeing their reaction and much more effective than the usual hand gestures.

I'm glad its not just me who has idiots pulling out without indicating on motorways/dual carriageways

I had a similar thing driving down the A1 towards London and some old guy in the middle lane is sitting doing about 50 in a 70 zone, he then moved into the left hand lane.

I waited back a while then, thinking he'd done it on purpose I started to overtake and he started drifting back into the middle lane by this time I was half way past him and couldnt slam on the breaks so checked mirrors in a split second and pulled into the fast lane he carried on oblivious! He didnt even know there was someone beside him.

I think you should have to retake your test at 70 just to make sure. My neighbour should be off the road and she knows it, she hit a parked car for crying out loud whilst going into her drive!!
