Ive developed a noise from my calipers (mainly right hand side)

Taken wheels off to check the ping/knock noise but everything seems ok!
Noticed the discs dont have there locating bolt ( the small retaining type)???
also how should the clip be???

Scratching my head here as i dont always get the noise but when i do its pretty loud!!

Thanks Ryan

Do you just get it when you've been driving it a while, the discs warm up and expand a little, might be the reason you don't always get it.

What sort of noise is it?

Yeah get it after about a few mins driving.....

Its a hard noise to explain sounds.... like somethings catching with a slight knock/ping noise!!

i have the same symptoms on my car, been told it's one of my suspension arm ball joints or track rod ends? work that out?
the only thing i can think is under braking, the weight of the car is applied to the front wheels, the slack is taken up on all the loose parts of a worn suspension setup and usually produces a click or clunk sound

does it happen as soon as you press the pedal ?

If it's knocking, it sounds like the cv joint. Check the cv boot is on properly and no water has managed to get inside, if they aren't greased up properly it will knock. It can be solved by just regreasing and buying a new cv boot for a while. But it's best to replace the cv joint and boot if it does start. This usually only happens when cornering or turning slightly though.

Well ive stripped down the brakes myself today and copper greased everything up! looked at my rubber joints on the suspension and some look a little off to me!!

It does knock as soon as i hit the pedal! got the dash off now having a look at the pin that goes through the bulk head but looks ok! could the master cylinder be on its way out??

Why does it seem to me that my a4 is doomed! as my central locking pump went thurs and it had a passat part number on it but was an audi only part to get??????:sadlike: cost £300

Also had to move exhaust over because it was banging on my rear arm!!
