stay clear of tomtoms ,the other have repair these all day long try garimin or any the have been in the market for years
 
I have a spare satnav, its a Mitac Mio 296+ and I also have v3 miomap upgrade for sale. Its a decent satnav, has 2.5gb HDD built in and all of europe street level mapping. I used it in Sardinia on holiday and it was excellent!

I was thinking about 150 quid for it, it cost me 340 odd quid when I bought it so its less than 1/2 price.

Just thought i'd mention it
 
We have a Snooper Syrius ( a bit pricey or it was when I bought it ) and a TomTom 510, both of which are pretty good I would personally say the TomTom is better for gadgets, the bluetooth is great on it. The syrius is better because it's a much clearer screen and bigger
 
I use a TomTom One every day of my working working week and it has never gone wrong or even had a glitch.

Its really easy to use and the maps pretty accurate. It is very good at locking onto gps Sats and rarely drops-out.

My inlaws were so impressed with my TomTom in action that they went out and bought one and have found it equally reliable and easy to use.
 
Use tomtom everyday for work (im a delivery driver) and IMHO they are good. On most occations it will take you right to the door. One thing I would say is whatever you get, if you use the sucker attachment to mount it make sure u wipe the screen clean afterwards as it leaves a mark on the screen. Thieves have taken to breaking into cars with sucker marks as a lot of people stow the satnav in the glovebox while shopping etc on the off chance it may be there.
 
Thanks all, might buy one, its cheap and I have a few quid store credit with them..... how big a deal is the POI?
 
I was also very impressed with the Tom Tom One, for a budget satnav it is far better than many more expensive models.

Never had a problem with it, it has a good chipset.

You will never have a problem getting a signal no matter what vehicle you are in.

I no longer even have mine in sight, i just follow the spoken directions.

Thats quite clever, I'm not sure I could ever totally rely on the spoken directions. They do go in some odd directions sometimes

I got myself a Navman 310, awesome piece of kit, large screen and clear directions, came with maps of the whole of Europe.
 
I've a navman but one of the budget ones, its good except alot of the maps are out of date and it'll try and take you down one way roads sometimes etc
 
OK to be different I have bought the Fujitsu one, I will report back on what its like later. My thinking is that as its a PDA I can update it with better/updated maps as time goes on
 
I've got one of the new tomtom one's, slightly smaller than the original one. It's is brilliant piece of kit. I've also got the caera POI's loaded on it and I am ditching the road angel and just having this in the car.

For the money you can get them for on the web it is definately recommended.

I have a Garmin c510d - european wide mapping, camera POI's and traffic monitor alerts. Simple to use. Recommended!
 
Got it, the Fujitsu unit is tiny. Seems really good. Will take some piccys and get them up

I've had tom tom for 3 years now and never any problems,
All my mates use Tom Tom various versions and when you start adding the speed camera databases, full detail in europe and us maps you cant beat it!
 
I've got a TomTom 710 and wouldn't be without it now, very pleased with it, never let me down or gone far wrong!
so easy to use and its so much better than struggling with a map!
the divert function has got me out of a few traffic jams too which is priceless!
