What should I choose...S4 or S5?

@Gary_LB Your car looks stunning there. And the interior is lovely. What does the colour look like when the weather is dull and overcast? Some cars colours change dramatically with the different weathers, so just wondered.

I wasn't sure about the red magma seats until I went to see the car in person and I love them now.

I am extremely happy with the magma seats as they look classy and lift the interior. The red/grey combo works well.

The colour looks fine when overcast it’s one of those colours that doesn’t change much in different lights. Dark grey works well as shines similar to black when clean and hides the dirt wen dirty so win win :)

My salesman wife has a sportback s5 in tango red it’s really nice. I’d have been tempted with one as great deals but two young kids and a little dog the avant was way forward. Plus it’s fast Audi avant rules lol

I think I'll go for an Avant next, S4 or A6 Varitant though

S4 saloon all the way :icon thumright:

S4 front end & lights look more aggressive than the S5.

Not a fan of the S5 sportback - it just looks too big.

S5 coupe doors are HUGE !

As you say no black pack on the S5.

S4 ticks all the boxes IMO and is the one I would go for

I do find the s-tronic box is far more responsive in the A5 than my S4, that may be down to different throttle response software as well though... Even in efficiency I’d say the A5 is almost as responsive as the S4 in dynamic.

I thought the B9 S4 had a torque converter box rather than S-Tronic.

You’re totally right, I was more meaning that the s-tronic on a 2.0tdi is far more responsive than the tiptronic on the 3.0T I have. Whether that’s down to throttle mapping or gearbox mapping or both I don’t know.

I looked at BMW M3/M4 the other day as the demonstrators are the same price as an S4. But I just can't bear myself to go with a car with such a dated interior (horrid 1970's orange dials) and rear wheel drive. Although BMW colour choices are far better than Audi's. There is not other car in my price range that really appeals to me (apart from maybe a (very used) second hand Nissan GTR but they also have horrid interiors.

Thanks. I tried to like the S5 Sportback but I just can’t. It’s like very ungainly and too big.

They are such similar cars that it really came down to the looks of the saloon vs sportback for me. I went with the S4.
