S4 ordered

Hi all,

Ordered my B9 S4 recently from these silly cheap lease deals, originally expected to see it around September time then I got a build date of July 16th, checked again the other day it’s now jumped forward to May 21st and now it’s saying expected to be built on 14th May. I’m amazed how it’s jumped forward so quickly, as excited as I am it’s also a tiny bit inconvience as I’ve now got to rush to get rid of my current car.

I didn’t go crazy on options but I went for,

S4 saloon
Ibis white
Red leather interior
Privacy glass
Virtual cockpit

Excited is an understatement, coming from nothing but fast ford’s(ford sales executive) I’m keen to see how this holds up in the fun factor.

So far I’ve read nothing but praise on these and after a brief test drive on one the build quality seems second to none.

One question is the Audi connect service you get for 36 months with the car, is this activated when you take delivery or do I have to sign up and get it all activated? The google earth maps I’m eager to try out.

If anybody lives in the UK Essex area and spot a white saloon, be sure to give us a wave :thumbs up:

I'm sure you won't be disappointed, I'm driving a Mustang (which is about the fastest Ford you can buy, I think besides a GT) currently in the States and it isn't a patch on the S4 in any department besides being ****** loud.

Think it's preactivated, dealer enabled Google Maps in my car during the demo.

Did you get any indication of delivery times? Been reading about delays due to 'retooling' affecting A3/A4/Q5 etc

I was told by my guy that it’ll more than likely be the start of June I’ll see it. I’ve been reading about delays, I can understand if there is as being in the business it happens more often than not.

How long have these been delayed by?

Not hear anything specific, but seen this on a couple of threads http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/my19.372226/ and also elsewhere that they are not taking any orders for SQ5

SQ5 is related to new emission standards coming into effect later this year.

Doesn't it have the same engine as the S4 though ?
I've also read the pretty much all Porsche production is stopping for most of the summer. Will be interesting to know how much of this is true, and what, if any impact on delivery times it has

I believe so, so it's a bit odd. I think the official line is that the order book has been filled (perhaps believable as Q5 is best seller in several regions) but have read a couple of sites that claim that the emissions changes are the real reason and this came from sources within Audi.

I have seen a number of posts from the OP of that thread in the tracking thread. IIRC it's an isolated incident where the dealer hasn't actually placed the order but is claiming shortage of parts or something similar. Sounds more like a dodgy dealer than an indication that orders will be delayed for the S4/5.
