My windscreen is broken and the car is technically owned by VW Finance. Anyone know if I'll get any grief if the car gets handed back at the end of the term with an OEE windscreen fitted?

I'd doubt it, but you never know, Why wouldn't you just get like for like though? Windscreen excess is next to nothing?

Best get it replaced or they will charge you for a new one, even if they didn't charge you,, on principle alone it should be replaced

Absolutely not an issue, as mentioned they probably won't even check assuming everything is intact

No issue with handing it back with a non oem screen.

Had a non-Audi branded replacement fitted in the end. Car seems slightly quieter inside now, so I guess the Autoglass fiiter did a better job than whoever fiited the original at the factory!

The 2 Audi's l have had have the worst windscreens of all my cars they just seem to mark chip far easier than others, the glass seems very very brittle, even heavy drops of water from the likes from overhead signage on motorways when they hit the screen its pretty loud..... and stressed

I doubt they'll even notice, but Autoglass used the OEM glass for me on request for no extra cost recently. Why not just do that?

I was speaking to glass fitter when I had my TTS windscreen replaced and he said that Audi and VW have, for a long time had lighter windscreens fitted from factory and a lot of the non OEM imitate this too. They do chip and mark much easier because of the very slightly thinner glass...
Not my words but guy seemed to know his stuff.

Had my windscreen replaced on a PCP car just before Xmas due to a stone chip /crack and the other week it's gone again, another stone chip / crack, plus just before had a couple of stones cause marks on the screen. Autoglass do full replacement and sensor calibration. Windscreen like cling film though, anything seems to mark or chip it.
