Quick one

Looking good mate, how did you decide on the values of the resistors to use? Trial and error? Or are they equivalent wattage and resistance to the original lamps?

It was trial & error but will look more into it now.
Maybe I can add two resistors instead of a relay.

So with these resistors no fault and led dosent flash ???

Could not stand it and not given up on key fob mod.

As vinyl was going in between rubber buttons and plastic fob body, it was causing automatic all windows opening whenever pressed open button on the fob.
Button was getting stuck and it was looking silly to open all windows with outsides weather.
So vinyl wen off.

Ordered one of these

As it was randomly posted colour by the seller and it would’ve been painted over, I didn’t mind what will turn up.
Actually, asked politely for a red one to see if It looked nice. Don’t have much red in or outside the car but it could still work.
White turned up.

Filled out the logo cutout, as it was misaligned and painted in Metallic Silver.

Also, painted matt black keyring silver bit in the fob so the colours are inverted.
Funny thing with that because I used my wife’s nail polish. Well, I ordered the nail polish for this purpose but will leave it for her.

Just popped it all on so will follow up day light pictures.

Nothing changed, as for signal.
Still able to open/close the car from fair distance.

Only difference I’ve noticed is the blade spring button. As the cover is not as slim, I need to press it a bit harder to open.

Rear wiper arm from 2008 A4 B8 installed in 5 minutes. Simple swap. There was no need for wiper arm pulley.

Adjusted how I wanted and works like it should. Even better, as wiper blade is slightly longer. And it looks brilliant too.

Also, fixed number plate leds strobe with a relay and a load resistor.

Wiring diagram:

Computer follow its routine bulb checks from right reverse light, through number plate leds, left reverse, right indicator and left indicator.

After the relay fix, it voids number plate leds, as its being cheated

Took me some time but worth it.

Soon will stop strobing on the road entirely.

Show how deeply embedded dirt can be on your car. Even after a wash.
Next time will have to clay the car, as I can feel under the cloths, it is still like sand paper.

All cloths washed but going to be used only for wheels as hasn’t brightened much.
New microfibre cloths on order

Have you done it yourself of someone else did it for you?

I have substantial amount of brushed aluminium effect vinyl left, I used in my previous car so Might be doing that some day. Not sure yet but would like to cover damages previous owner did, near the front ashtray. Hated them since ownership but cannot be bothered to go through all the faff with console out job. This is my daily driver and have two kinds at home so it's kinda difficult.

Reverse are in tailgate lamps and indicators are in the rear quarter part.

Haven’t installed the resistors into the rear indicators, as for some reason it did not need any. Don’t know why.
Only front ones threw an error so drilled through the bulb holder and slipped the resistor wires under the bulb for both contacts.
No resistor is at the rear of mu car.

When you remove tailgate lamp bulb carrier and follow the connection from the bulb to the lamp connector, you can transfer that to pins in the connector and to wires from the plug. If that makes sense.
I’ve made pictures of attached resistors and it’s snipped connections. Also, I took a closer picture of wires I’ve tapped into.
You just tap into each of the wires to the bulb.
Let me see if can point it out more.

c6528ff275ff594334c57ea85ab2c4ce.jpg

Cannot remember precisely but it looks like it was Black with green stripe and Brown wires.

Regardless of resistor job to eliminate the dis error, you might still get the strobe.
This can be resolved with relays I have also fitted.
While you at it with resistor, might think of installing those relays, as there will be no point of taking the tailgate trim off again.

With reverse done, consider another relay for number plate leds, if you have any in there.
Again, strobe is something that will look odd at night.

Re-threaded and cleaned arm rest cover. Used this magic sponge and all the shine and grub came off. It look so fresh and like new now.

Due to be fitted later on today with full description of "how-to" remove it.

Steering wheel re-thread coming now to match all pieces.

Thinking now, seat threads look odd in the car, with that black thread. Hmmm... It may be a task but still doable. I think ...

Don’t want it too dark but that light either.

Medium smoke tint on order.

Will need to do cut outs for reverse light and indicators, as tint dim them a bit.

Another completed (well, half way) job, to be also ticked off my to-do list.

Wanted to upgrade ambient lighting and done the rears so far.

Brightness in MMI i set to maximum and it looked standard

866e8aace257ac6bb694ccf56454413f.jpg

but it is now like that

39fd6c00d21a154a2faaf7ddcb9ba675.jpg

Red leds also tucked into door handle light.
These were fairly easy to connect as just tapped into power wires. All soldered, shrink tubed and tesa cloth taped.

1377c396d722d47f38c8cfb28bb23c4e.jpg

3 led strip squeezed in between light lens and door trim plastic

e32cea82a8a8a86abb2fa42d27b3c037.jpg

Been kindly enlightened by @Steveredman that, there is a way to fit 12V led strip into ambient door light plastic lens.
Wire connector has a hidden resistor that reduce voltage to 3V, hence dull light in there. Only one 3mm led at the end of plastic rod.

I have taped on top of the rod led strip and tapped into the power wires before the connector

b5ee06664b2fceba65d1c31ffaab884d.jpg

I’ve made secondary connector to led strip in case it goes off so I can easily replace it.

It is really bright and without aluminium door trim you can see the led points

e4d03305c033e869fe608a6a0edecd3a.jpg

f83b2b184ba5725b5b0436fadae9c860.jpg

Both rear doors completed.

Once get more time will continue with fronts.

While I was at above stuff, I’ve extended puddle light wires.
Nothing major but whoever replaced their bulbs in that light or upgraded them to leds, will know it is pita.
I could pull the light out of the door card just about to undo the connector plug. Wire then sprung back in behind the door card and could not pull it out enough to reconnect with light. Door card had to come off and lights could be reconnected with ease.
Now, will not have this problem anymore.

Thinking of changing the puddle lights to logo projectors.

Hahaha. I try but nights are the only time I have for myself and the car. Kids asleep, wife coped with, house chores done. It is from time to time I'll go downstairs and continue with projects and boy, they do get me going further. When you something you've worked for hard is looking better and better, it drives you by itself.
