Facelift Brake Loss - a change of underpants moment.....

The fact they just fall back on the Sale of Goods Act just shows that they are a bunch of charlatans and just want to shift metal while not giving one single **** about the customer experience. The whole glass and aluminium operation is a charade to lull you in.

Mind you, they have seriously ****** up in my case - don't try to rely of the Sale of Goods Act lads if you already fall foul of it would be my advice.

These button muppets ruin what is otherwise a great car.

My expectations - brake failure and exhaust issue - get the car in, strip it down pronto to find the issue, fix it and get the car back. Sort the exhaust at the same time if the parts come in. Get the part back to Audi Gmbh to issue an advisory if required.

The reality - get the car - do nothing. Take the car for a test drive - can't replicate the issue. Do nothing. Customer attends and drives the car with tech x 2. No fault yet - tech identifies the servo as the likely culprit. Do nothing. Agree to replace the servo within a timescale. Do nothing. After the agreed fix date (and after the Customer tells them they will reject the car if not sorted) start works. Dent the car. Replace the servo. Replace the exhaust with an identical part that is defective. Hand the car back with a thumbs up.

Then fall back on the Act to defend.

Glad it’s not just me that finds the majority of them useless *******.

This isn’t just your case, this is every case that spans beyond a regular oil change for Audi service :lmfao:

We are all stuffed!!!!!

Anyway, be wary of what you post on here because I promise you if there is something they don’t like it will be on paper in front of you. Somebody at your dealer WILL be reading ALL of your posts.

Its fine - nothing more than I have sent them in emails to be fair. In any event, the Sale of Goods Act does not allow an exclusion for someone calling you a **** on a website - especially if it is true. To be fair, I attended a property event in Cannes last week which has 100,000+ attendees and told my story to a few and by the end of the week was being swamped by people I don't know offering sympathy and taking the p1ss in equal measure.

These are all people driving Audi, BMW, Porsche, Bentley, Mercs etc. A great PR win for Audi there for sure.

I was at a car boot sale in Wigan discussing the issues we are all having owning an Audi RS3 and was told, 'serves you right for being a show off'!!!

On the flipside some of them are great, never had a problem with Camberley Audi* You however have had an absolute mare ED.

*although they did wash and scratch the RS3 even after I told them not to clean it. Did pay £400 though to sort it out via a third party.

I don't ****** believe it.

Go to crank the car this morning - usual procedure, turn the key - nothing happens.

Try again - **** all action.

Really stamp on the brake pedal and it fires up fine.

Go figure..........

While I have already rejected the car and asked for a replacement I am beginning to wonder of the wisdom of such a move. Do I really need another one of these cars?

I know that if I was in your situation and if possible, I would hand the car back with no financial loss and not bother with another one. These are not isolated issues as all of them are plagued with one fault or another.

For me, a brilliant car but poorly made and for the cost there should be no faults whatsoever.. come November, mine will be gone...

No idea bud.
My Q5 will be 2 years old and the RS will be 11 months so I will get rid of them both and get something else. I've always liked the 335d, hada bit of a play with one last weekend and was impressed how well it went so that looks favourite at the moment.
I planned on possibly keeping the RS as an investment, and I still think it would be, but I just can't be bothered with the potential issues after the warrenty has expired so it will be going.
As mentioned previously, my Q5 is absolutely brilliant, no issues whatsoever, and a pleasure to drive but this RS thing has really tested my liking of Audi so the BM or Merc route is rapidly becoming a probability...

At Audi now went for drive with technician he says the pedal does travel a bit when at idle common thing with diesel. Gonna find another same year as mines to go out in. See the difference

This thread was filling me with dread for my first service at Camberley Audi in two weeks but I'm relieved they're one of the good ones.

I've asked them not to wash it but might have to stick a post-it on the dash.

I would if I was you - or hang something off the rear view mirror. They have some ready made signs over on Detailing World.

Good for you rejecting the car ed have to asked for an exclusive colour or some options and a courtesy car while you wait for another?

I can't imagine they are going to entertain that for one second.

If they source another car for me I am going to have to get a bomb disposal expert to give it a thorough going over before turning the key in the ignition!

Good luck mate hopefully this one brings you more joy mate.

The dealer hasn't even responded to the rejection yet. No real surprise there as they never seem to return phone calls at the best of times.

The lady from Audi UK is back in tomorrow so I will find out what the **** is going on from her I expect.

Tony let it be known your rs saloon was the only one I’ve seen to date if that’s any consolation mate. If you do go down the rs route mate seriously check out the PFL model I don’t think you will be that disappointed then mod it with the extra cash :tearsofjoy:

The hissing is plain as day although while you are hearing it your car is hurtling towards an obstacle without slowing down.

The more I think about this, the more I am getting really p1ssed off. Seriously, I was ploughing down the J4 slip on the M1 at 70++ when the car well in front stopped at the merge - stamped the breaks and nothing happened - not a great moment for a £52k car. The only thing saving me was the loud pedal to shift it across 3 lanes.

On the upside, the Audi Assist service is faultless - Roadside Assist out in a couple of hours and hire car delivered within 6 hours.

I Googled VW break servo failure and noticed an uncomfortable number of hits - I will insist on chapter and verse on this failure or will reject the car if they fail to provide sufficient detail. I will let you all know what ******** they come up with.
Agreed we do rely on assistance systems too much to pander to idiots that can't drive. I had a similar incident to the op about 22 years in my 170 bhp modded 205 1.9 gti. Mine was caused by a moron mechanic incorrectly installing new brake pads, actually bad they disappeared from the car when I on a 70mph dual carriageway and a short distance from a busy roundabout, hit the brakes and had a bit of braking bit then band and nothing. Had to handbrake it in a controlled off and on way at 70mph. Smoke everywhere but luckily had rock solid suspension and car stopped easily, new boxers needed though.

Could've flattened the idiot that did the brakes, got them done elsewhere and got a refund from the moron chain

I tend to agree mate - mind you, I have spent the evening delving into the depths of the current legislation - the Consumer Rights Act 2015 has replaced parts of the Sale of Good Act hence bringing in the 30 day and 6 month rule. Not entirely straightforward on cars as they are exempted from the full refund provisions - fair and reasonable deduction allowed for usage. Sounds like an opportunity for fisticuffs to me.

Heard nothing from Audi today after lobbing the handgrenade over the parapet last night - either usual customer service experience or machiavellian scheming underway. It is getting to the point where I couldn't give a toss - I am at the point where I am going to have to lob the whole **** of an issue to my firm's lawyers as it is starting to prove too much of a distraction to actually running my business.

What really annoys me is that Audi have some up with a fantastic car (and by the sound of the 2020 RS3 it will be the last one) but proceed to **** it up with substandard manufacture and dealers.

You can only look foward now Tony, exciting times ahead for its replacement mate.

No - all goes formal on Tuesday.......

I have rejected a new car only once , for my sins I’ve bought more than I care to remember . I won’t mention the manufacturer or dealer but was a new performance hatch not a VAG I add . Cut a long story short electrical issues meant car several times just did not start in the AM meaning vehicle was recovered to dealer several times in first few weeks of ownership did about 500 miles in total . Car fixed and returned problem remained . Rejected vehicle , quoted what was at that time the law . I had no luck with dealer , gave up handed to solicitor . After several letters and no response from dealer solicitor informed dealer was instructing a third party to recover goods from them to a cost of my vehicle not sure how this works without going to court , however the threat of a recovery agency turning up in their nice shiney showroom on a Saturday morning and clamping cars on their forecourt did the trick , reimbursed for full amount . Clearly I had to pay the solicitor. But I was almost whole and walked away happy . Really was a stressful time , thought about nothing else so I do know where you are . In summary they were calling my bluff until they got an “official “ letter then just paid up and moved on . Worst thing was I noticed the vehicle back in their showroom for sale clearly with the same issues the following day .
How some dealers survive with this level of customer service is beyond me . Perhaps because people like me keep ordering new cars !!!!! Regardless of how I’m treated !!! Good luck ...

I am about to head into some properly stormy waters with the dealer and Audi which may well end up in the Courts.

In any event, I have been a little too passionate in expressing my feelings and disappointment with the Dealer's handling of events to date.

I will provide an update when the issue is concluded and will be radio silent on the issue until all is done.

Thanks for your ideas & support all.

Well, today they have agreed that it will go back and they will replace it - they are now scouring dealer ready stock so we will see what is available.

That’s a great result , I know it’s been a pain, but good outcome in my opinion.

What happens to that car after it goes back to the dealer?

Back to Audi, or will they release it back into the market?

I suppose it depends on the grounds of rejection

Brakes - Audi's problem
Bodywork damage - Dealer's problem

Well done Evil Diesel, I'm glad its the best possible result in the circumstances

If you were prepared to wait would they let you order a factory order so you get exactly what you want rather than whatever happens to be available?

I know where there's a low mileage Viper Green 3 month old one for sale bud..
No rust on the hubs, no flaking exhaust, no rattling flaps and a host of extras .. :whistle2:

Well, they have sourced a replacement -

Panther Black with matt alu styling pack
Pan roof
Matrix LED lights
Carbon fibre inlays
SS Seats in red
Comfort & Sound pack
Sport Pack
Red brake calipers
Privacy glass
Option offset black alloys
Dim/fold mirrors.

Specs on the configurator to £56k compared to £52 for mine. Gets registered on Saturday.

They have been really good since I threw my toys out of the pram to be fair.
