On now on ITV1. The main character drives a black facelift A3 sportback. It has black roof rails but a chrome grill surrround, so it doesn’t appear to be a black edition. I’ll check again, but I think it has brightwork window surrounds. Is it possible to have roof rails in black when the car isn’t a black edition?

It does look good in black.

I’m sure when I specced aluminium roof rails on my sline there was an option for black ones

I believe it is possible to spec black rails, check the configurator.

That car is an odd spec, she used to drive a PFL S Line in Daytona. This series they have gone for black but in the Sport trim, but strangely the car seems to have odd S Line alloys? Maybe Audi was too embarrassed to give them some of their diabolical wheels that can come on the Sport, haha.

Saw an A3 (white) in work carpark today, drove past and thought it was a black-edition, it had black roof rails but turns out it wasn't a black edition and was just an S-Line, ironically I went around to park further down and there was another which was the same in grey and also had black roof rails and didn't appear to be a black edition either.

My neighbours have a Q5 with chrome grill but black roof rails, whereas my wife has both in chrome - so think it can be spec'd somehow.

I have black roof rails !

Marcella used to come raving with a group of us back in the 80's !
