Hiello everyone
Recently had a couple of Mk 4 Golfs, just sold to a good friend's wife, a PD130 estate that I really enjoyed - remapped to 180 bhp, about 300 ft/lb torque so it went well. Put some heated black leather seats in it that were really nice. I really like the PD130 engine. Quick and very economical on a run.
Decided I wanted an A4 Avant. I think they are a really nice looking car, especially the B6. After an aborted trip to Northampton to pick one up on Saturday whereby the seller who I thought was private and a woman turned out to be a trader and a man. I asked 4 days before and again on the day I left North Wales if the Audi was still for sale and was told yes. When I got there (2 hours on the train) I was shown an A4 saloon, the estate had gone the day before. So I got a train back to North Wales.
On the way, I contacted another seller about a 2003 130 Avant. The only stop on the train I was on was Crewe on the way to Chester. The seller was in Crewe so long story short I asked him to meet me at the station and spent an hour looking over the car and the paperwork. Deal agreed and I drove home.

FSH all with many supporting bills and all old mots.
The MOT history online was good (just the odd minor fail over the years)
147,000 miles
All manuals and the leather binder
both keys with all buttons working
really tidy inside and out, no rips or tears in seats, dash and trims
cambelt water pump and tensioner at 115k
clutch and dmf at 127k
recent discs and pads
alternator pulley replaced
air con regassed (though the pump sounds a bit noisy to me, I rarely use a/c)
front and rear parking sensors
metal dog guard (that will be sold)
cruise
centre armrest
no pixel issues on dash
6cd changer in dash
parrot handfree fitted and working
all tools and recent service
removable towbar (unused)
mot sept 2018
No check lights illuminated (I ran a full VCDS in any case)

Drives well.
Metal dog guard removed - that will be on ebay at the weekend. Looks like it may be a genuine Audi part.
Had some aftermarket dark tints that looked purple inside. Definitely not keen on them. Removed those with a steamer today. Much improved.
Changed 3 footwell bulbs today that were not working.
Getting new wipers tomorrow.
Ordered a replacement for the rear washer jets - it dribbles - the inner ring part of the plastic jet part has split.
Swapped the tyres front to rear - rears look almost new. They might have to go through since they are pretty noisy.
Ordered a new catch for the armest, as with my VW's this was broken.
EGR blank plates ordered.
Heko wind deflectors ordered
Checked VCDS :
- a few non ECL faults - the motors on the climate control for defrost
- An engine mount solenoid valve (never even knew such a thing existed). If it needs changing I'll probably just stick a solid RS4 one in its place.
Remapped
There is a resonance type vibration I noticed today on the motorway - feels and sounds like the exhaust may be touching somewhere. I'll get it up on a ramp tomorrow and have a good luck around.
Needs a new floor mat drivers side. might just replace them all.
Have really enjoyed driving it today. Must say that in many ways I preferred the Golf which felt more involved and gave great feedback especially from the steering. I feel more isolated from the road in the Audi. It is different and I'll get used to it. The Audi does feel very sure-footed and really quiet apart from that vibration/resonance which I will investigate and rectify.
I have pics from the seller and they still have the rear dark tints in place.
Am not 100% certain about the aftermarket rear spoiler in black. I'll live with it for now and see how I feel.
Ill give it a good clean, clay bar and a polish once the weather settles down a abit.

Adrian looks like a very nice car a blank canvas if your going to modify ,sounds like you have been busy so far
