I have just bought a 2010 S-Line Avant which is not a Le-Mans edition.
Just wondering what makes the Le-Mans a Le-Mans if that makes sense?

LeMans badge on the sides, under the side mirrors. You might have a sline badges there already.

My A6 was not stated as a LeMans and was lacking in badge but V5 states it is a LeMans.
I have Sline badges on sides (as explained above) but had to add on LeMans badge myself.

Also, 2usually" Sline version cars have a Sline badge on the grille and on the boot/tailgate. I have non in there.

Not sure what would be the mechanical or design difference.

There was different default specification (Think from memory, Le-Mans had heat seats and a few more minor extra's) , but that was about it. There is no difference in bumpers, or any other body panels. Interior is also identical.

I think that the differences over the S Line were heated front seats, 19" wheels, rear parking sensors and interior ambient light package.
Not sure if it was only pre-facelift that they got the Le Mans badges.
Pre-facelift may also have had an upgrade on the MMI system, but I'm not certain on that one.

Mine has all of the above. No Le-mans badges.
I called Audi to get spec and dealer visits and they informed me that it a LTD Edition but did not say Le-mans?!?! Non the wiser tbh

They dropped the le mans name and opted for special edition, mine is 2011 facelift and v5 states special edition.

C5 were badged up as LeMans Edition, C6 facelift was badged as S Line Special Edition then that was dropped and on the C7 it became Black Edition.
Essentially over and above S Line you got 19" wheels, heated seats and rear parking sensors as standard, obviously black edition gets piano black inserts etc instead of brushed stainlees & chrome....that's what I got told when I asked and subsequently discovered when I started researching the topic myself.

My dad had a 57 reg Audi A6 Le Mans 3.0 Tdi Quattro few years ago
Le mans badges under wing mirrors
Le mans alloy wheels
Only rear noticeable differences compared to the 2006 Audi A6 3.0 Tdi S Line Quattro that I had

He also had the black styling pack (full de-chrome around windows, front grill, rear boot strip) on his which was an additional factory extra along with many other toys and gadgets.
