I've just placed an order for new S6 Avant Black Edition, to replay 2015 S4 Avant

Gone for Misano Red with:
  • Tech Pack
  • Heated rear seats
Ordered through DriveTheDeal as they had the best deal.

Quoted 20-22 weeks delivery time.

What delivery times have others had on new order lately?

I waited near 5 months for my misan0 s3 but that was nearly 3 years ago.

I am surprised you didn't wait for the new A6/S6 out later this year. Great car regardless. Does seem like a long lead time.

Bet you can’t wait!
looks like my plan of having it for July might that be out then.

I could be doing the same in a few weeks,
Mythos black (but still deciding love misano but want discrete)
LED Matrix
Tech pack advanced with ACC
Car play

What was drive the deal offering off if you don’t mind me asking, I’m currently on 21% off and s good trade in on my bitdi

Just worked it out to 28.7% including Audi contributions etc.

Just hoping when the dealer gets in touch the wait isn't quite as long and DriveTheDeal have been managing expectations

Hope so, should be talking to a local one and get some feelers out on delivery timing the week after next.

Did you manage to get a test drive of one before hand?

I ordered mine December a week before Christmas and my cars built and at the docks in Germany. Should be with me in 2 weeks time. So about 13 weeks. I was told I wouldn’t have it until the end of may.

You could kiss goodbye to a hefty discount and Audi contribution though.

I chose not to wait as the deal I got was very good.

That’s my thinking too, plus s6 probably won’t be out for 12 months or so and if the rumours are to be believed will only have a v6 in, no more v8’s which is a big part of the appeal for me anyway.

Love the V8s. Would love to run an RS6 but I do 25k per year so fuel costs would be prohibitive. I had the new RS4 for a couple of days while mine was in for a little warranty work. That new V6 Bi turbo is awesome. I am considering one when mine is due for replacement next year. It makes the BiTdi seem slow.......

I'd love an RS6 as well but after running a C63 for 20 months covering 30K a year I couldn't bring myself to spend so much time and money the pumps again. Hopefully I can average early to mid 20's mpg out of the S6...

Yup love a V8, RS6 has always been the dream car for me, but far too obvious and attracts the wrong sort of attention for my likings, S6 should more or less 90% RS just a little bit more discrete which suits me (planning a full de badge and black mirrors) going for the full TDi look

I do like the look of the new RS4s give it 12 months and the price should come down a bit, they’re on the high side for me at the moment , that new v6 does sound good, I have considered S4’s but the drive left me cold after the Bitdi, hoping when I get a drive of the s6 it wont

Yes the Rs4 is a great machine and it is balanced through the corners. The prices are a premium, but I am hoping they will be a bit more reasonable next year when the demand drops. I will be interested to see the new S6 when its released. The new A6 looks really good...

I hope mine is similar time too.

I test drive the new S4 a buy didn't like it as much as my current S4, so was going to keep it.

However the deal on the S6 and the chance to own one of the last V8s swung it.

Last of the V8 interceptors , sorry mad Max’s fault for liking v8’s

It is a shame the V8’s aren’t long for this world

The order through Drive The Deal is being handled by Carlisle Audi. Got to say the process through Drive The Deal has been easiest car purchase I've made so far.

Really like not having the hassle of haggling with the dealer. It was as simple as they ring me with a quote, I rang ring back next day to order and gave them card details for deposit (Dealer actually takes the deposit after finance has been agreed).

Carlisle Audi were intouch the next day to confirm spec and sort out finance details.

Did you have a part ex?
Hassle free the way to go

Part ex is the only downside. As they are so far away they can't value my S4.

I'll probably sell it privately when I know when the S6 will be ready.

Which is what I did when I brought the S4 from local dealer as they offered me such a low price for my trade in then.

Enquired about a new C7 S6 today, was told no more build slots. That 28.7% was tempting.

After looking a colour option over the weekend, decided to change from Misano to Floret Silver.

Order has been confirmed now, and it looks like its current scheduled for build week 18, so hopefully delivery should be a lot sooner than expected.

Floret Silver is a great choice.

I had confirmation my cars built and at the docks in Germany, That was a week ago friday. So I should be getting it at the end of this week or next.

So you might be lucky and it comes through even quicker.

Looks like I may of not been quick enough
Had a call back saying dealer can’t get a build slot.
May have a ring round tomorrow and see if any left anywhere

Looks like I my order in just in time.

Have you tried Carlisle Audi, they seem to have got me a build much earlier than expected so may have modified an order they already had in. Worth a try.

There are a couple of pre-reg deals from Audi Approved, if you want a saloon. One with 50 miles for £41k. The finance deals on them probably won't as good as new though.

Cheers, need an Avant with kids and camping kit.

I’m on the approved used and auto trader daily

Problem I have is I’m after the tech pack advanced, I don’t think I could go back to non ACC, makes cruising so relaxing
It’s a rare option, took ages to find on my current one.

Going to look at an E43 AMG later this week as a possible alternative with a lot of toys, I think I could be disappointed with the lack of V8 though , E63 already ruled out as can’t get a tow bar on it (for MTB’s)

I was considering the E43 AMG, the problem is its not really an AMG and after having had a real one 3 years ago I knew I would feel cheated not having a NA 6.2 V8. Plus I really wanted to have a v8 as my daily.

The v6 engine is also not as tuneable as the s6's either which was a big appeal for me and mine will be into MRC 2 weeks after delivery. Plus I think the s6 is a bargain. Just wished it would arrive at the dealers, it is currently in the UK having landed over the weekend so hopefully the wait is almost over.
