So, my C7 saloon runs flawlessly, it’s a lovely place to be and it’s served me well for the last 2 years while doing a 75mile round trip 4 days a week.
The problem wasn’t the car, it was the job!
I have now changed job/companies and am currently riding my bike most days the 4miles each way.
The job is great and permanent, but the office is temporary and in the next 4-6weeks we are moving to the new premises with parking and a workshop, this is more like 14miles door to door.
Now the reason for considering a C5 is:
A. that I want out of car payments, too many other things like family holidays that 300quid a month can be spent on.
B. Saloon is far less practical than estate/hatchback, this C7 is the first saloon I have had for a decade and I now remember why I sold the last one.
C. I fancy a V8 or Bi-turbo, I know they are going to be a fair bit more work, but I can ride my bike or motorbike to work if I need a few down days.
So I have found a couple of C5 Avants that with a raid of the piggy bank I can buy and get out of my car payment.
What are the pitfalls living with a 140k C5?

The V8 was quite leaky
The bi-turbo seems in much better shape than the V8 and comes with a full history and has the 5hp serviced with ZF parts 3K ago
