Custom "S3" Branded Floor Mats (8V)

Hi all,

I've been doing some digging in search of a set of Genuine Audi S3 branded mats for my 2016 Saloon.

It turns out that these only exist for LHD models in the EU/US/other markets.

I'm not sure if this has been done before - I couldn't find anything using the 'Search' function.

So, I found a guy named Martin on eBay who manufactures a lovely set for the 8P chassis, with subtle "S3" embroidered badges - similar to that of the LHD OEM mats, compared to other less subtle looking ones - have a look here.

I decided to contact him to see what he could do for the 8V.

He is able to produce these (8P), designed to suit our cars (8V), with or without the heel pad, with a choice of edging/piping colour to suit your requirements:

Yes we can do that for you, no problem at all.
Advise them to purchase using this listing (item no 302516852869), but to copy and paste this note below in to the "Message to Seller" section of PayPal when purchasing:

"Mats for Audi S3 8V (2013 on) model. Dark grey, silver trim, no heel pad."

Once that note is on the order, I'll do the rest and will ensure they receive the correct set for their vehicle.

If they DO have the earlier 8P model, which this listing is for, they just need to advise that they require 'no heel pad' in the "Message to Seller" section of PayPal when purchasing.

According to the Audi website (under 'Model Usage') , the OEM mats are not variant specific - meaning that one shape fits all (Hatch/SB/Saloon) AND are the same for Pre & Post Facelift - EXCLUDING the Cabriolet. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG!

He's selling them at £39.99 plus £7.00 delivery for a set of 4.

I'll take the plunge and report back with detailed pictures and a review of the quality.

Oh and no, I'm not on commission - simply sharing an idea with the community.

Martin is providing me with a sample drivers side mat to test fitment, etc.

He also added that he can manufacture LHD sets and ship worldwide for those who require.

i like them mate, been looking about few weeks back but found nothing of this same design,
could you pm the contact details or name i need search on there buddy :)
 
It'll be interesting to see the quality of these in comparison to the OEM set. My driver's mat looks pretty worn already, considering I've only done 700 miles.

Presumably, he does non-S3 mats?
 
Autostyle can supply monogramed mats as well. They are based in Milton Keynes and online.

That's ****** awful! You'd expect at the very least, 10 times that before they start to show signs of degradation!!

I should think so, he offers many other styles for other cars. I might be worth sending him a message through eBay if you're looking for specific embroidery?

I tried to edit my first post but it wouldn't let me. I had a look at their ebay listings and there's an S-line mat too.

The sample mat arrived this morning...

Initially, once unwrapped - my first thoughts were that it looks almost factory.

However, upon closer inspection I wasn't 100% on the "S3" embroidered patch that has been sewn onto the mat - I am particularly fussy when it comes to that "OEM" finish. I'm going to ask Martin if there is any way to embroider directly onto the surface of the mat - just like the Genuine Audi one. If not, I could live with it the way it is.

The border edging/piping is in my opinion, too silver for my interior so I'd probably look at going with another colour that he offers (potentially anthracite) AND the edging/piping is definitely too wide in comparison with the original mat set. This made fitment in the drivers footwell too snug - I had to tuck the top right corner of the mat under the plastic trim below the bonnet release lever and it sits high at the top left corner on the left foot rest (see picture), this could be down to poor positioning of the stud receptacles, they weren't in exactly the same position as the original. Again, I'm being super pedantic.

To summarise, the mat is very close to being perfect but for me, some refinements must be made to convince me to purchase a set. I will feed all this back to Martin and await his reply.

That's much more like it. The edging and embroidery are more factory looking which is exactly what I want. Do they offer a set for the S3?

Take a look on the website, not everything is listed but they will embroider what ever you want.

Just looked and the S3 is listed.

I've just had a look too. I'm guessing the set you have pictured is a "Premium" mat? Did you go with black or anthracite in colour?

They don't have an S3 badge option on their online configurator so I might give them a ring on Monday and see what they can do...

I've gone for a "premier" range set in anthracite with anthracite matte leatherette and silver stitching, with an embroidered "S3" motif on each of the front mats, I wasn't bothered about having them on the rears. Thanks for pointing them out to me! I should receive them at the start of next week, hopefully...

No problem, i hope they meet your expectations. I am thinking of ordering another set with Audi Sport logo on them.

they pretty good tbh. better than the standard audi mats, like you say a darker edging will look better.

get some pics up mate when you get them,cheers
 
Just ordered a set from Autostyle too, black with white edges. If they look as good as the S5 example above I'll be well pleased!
 
Got my sample through for some mats. Viper green edging or there equivalent. Matches quite well. The mat sample is quite plush. It should be well worth the outlay.

From autostyle. I emailed them to ask if they did viper green piping as that colour not shown on their internet page, and very quickly replied with the offer to send out samples. Will be placing an order Monday.

Do they do them with that heel pad on drivers mat also? Looks good with the colour piping around the heel mat

Yes I’m sure they do but you will have to specify this on your order.

How well does it match the paint?

I went with anthracite carpet as I was told it’s a perfect match to the interior carpet.

Will take a photo tommorow as clearly it's a bit dark now. It's ok. But as it's Matt edging it'll never natch the gloss paint. For me it's good as it lifts the dullish interior. Might enquire about the anthracite option.

Hmm. I want to do some custom mats for mine- Vegas Yellow. But it has Vegas Yellow beltline trim instead of brushed aluminum, so the match will be more important. I guess I should email and ask if they'll ship to New Trumpistan.
 
Update from Autostyle is that they should be finished today and be with me tomorrow or Wednesday :rockwoot:

Bit of a dilemma. Would the anthracite Mats go with the black carpets? I'm looking at anthracite with green piping.

Ah ok, I’ve gone with anthracite carpet and edging with a silver stitch. Concerned now that they’ll arrive with some tacky horrible sparkly silver thread! I should’ve specified light grey!

They’ll be here tomorrow...

They're here!

They look fantastic, although they've arrived without the sliver/grey stitch I had requested...

The difference in quality is night and day from the other sample I received.

This is the order list I've received to spec mine. Quite thorough list.

Please confirm the specific model of your car as some models have the stud fixing rings on both front and rear mats.


Specification:

Make:

Model:

Year:

Colour carpet:

Colour binding:

Contrast stitch: yes / no, if requested what colour:

Heel pads: yes / no (carpet £5,- extra each, evo £10,- extra each), driver only or both fronts

Motif:

Position: top/inside/bottom/outside

Orientation: horizontal/vertical

Motif rears: yes/no (standard: centre position, additional cost £10,-)
 
Slight problem with mine...

I ordered for the Saloon (which I require) and they've sent me a set for the Hatch/3dr. The rear mats are totally different.

They're working on getting a new pair of rears out to me just now.

As for the review... Autostyle have specifically requested that I do not share images of their work on the public forum, however I'm more than happy to send some via direct messaging.

Also, I must add that these mats are OEM quality, if not better! Very plush carpet and refined finishing. Far superior to the previous sample drivers mat I received.
 
Interesting to know why they don't want their work sharing which could lead to more orders…
