BFB 1.8t stock engine 163hp. I've read a lot of posts today but none that have brought me to the conclusion of which is best.
So we have the cheapest of the lot and it was never fitted to the 1.8t NGK BKR6E copper plug which will wear quicker and lose performance but at less than £10 for four it's not such a big expense.
NGK 6962 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NGK-Spark...547933&hash=item4ad36e58ba:g:-Z0AAOxySoJTRSK0

The next in line is Bosch FR7KPP33+ A double platinum plug that's a little more expensive at around £25 mark, I'm not too sure of Bosch spark plugs, that's what is fitted just now. They obviously will last longer than the bog standard copper ones but platinum doesn't conduct heat as well so there's a bit of a trade off there.

Next one I was looking at isn't fitted to the Audi A4 1.8t either but I had these in my Passat 1.8t, NGK PFR6Q, I can get these at my local TMS for £20 for four,

The last ones I was looking at were NGK IFR6Q-G and these are a direct upgrade from the PFR6Q, these are iridium plugs and are supposed to be a better conductor than platinum,

Obviously they all have their advantages and disadvantages so I'd like to hear what you're running and your thoughts on them? One comment that I read was someone that stated their car was running really sweet with the copper plugs fitted, that's what I'm after!
I think NGK make better spark plugs than Bosch does so I'm quite keen to get some NGK plugs in there, thanks for reading and I look forward to your input.

p.s, I've used BERU spark plugs once, never again, missfires galore and it ran terribly, they were returned and refunded from CP4L.

Okay so no takers, I’ve gone with the copper core NGK BKR6 E at £8 for four, initial impressions are good, just a quick run round the block and it feels much smoother and more powerful. On checking, the old plugs look done.

As the previous poster stated, the advantage of standard plugs (not platinum or palladium) is you can clean 'em up and re-gap them and they would be good for another 5,000 miles or so. Once selected for proper heat range, cleaned and properly gapped, I'd bet there would be no decernable difference in performance for standard plugs when compared to exotic plugs within that up to 7,000 mile window; then include the average cost per mile, there would be no contest. JMHO

Took the BKR6E plugs out, not 100% sure in them, extended time cranking on first start, mpg down compared to the Bosch plugs.
I got a good price on some NGK PFR6Q so that’s what I’m running now and it’s so much smoother and willing to rev.

Check that the new plugs were gapped properly. To be honest, the stock Audi plugs would be what I would have used, but given the price verses NGK platinums, I would have gone that route myself. I looked over your thread pictures and saw those were not the stock Audi plugs...sorry! Platinum plugs are less prone to fouling, as the electrode is tiny and very little chance of debris sticking. But given an engine in good condition, again the advantage for the performance plug has is only slight.

I had a 1.8t Passat and ran the PFR6Q in it and it was sweet as a nut, I saw them on EBay for £12.99 for 4 you can’t get any better than that. Not a fan of the Bosch plugs, several searches on various sites brings up the Bosch plugs, weird.

Good call, after looking at the price of the NGKs I did the same thing...
