Rear wiper.

A4 b8 3.0 tdi 61 reg.
All of a sudden my rear windscreen wiper has a mind of it's own, and works when it wants, and for as long as it wants, without any input from me !!!
It will work for about ten mins and then just stop. Or sometimes just two or three strokes.
Its doing my head in.
 
Scan it with vcds first before start taking tailgate trim off with internal leak signs.
Have you checked if rain sensor part of windscreen is clean? Silly but might be the cause.

Cheers mate. Dont know anyone in these parts with VCDS .
No signs of leakage, And, rain sensor clean on front windscreen. Although, rear wiper has never activated on auto wipers.
 
Rear wiper is also activated when reverse gear selected and rain sensor activated.

Check vcds map on the forum for nearest member around you.
