Good afternoon,

I looking for some advice, I am the very proud owner of a 2015 B8 RS4 which i bought from my local Audi dealership. Love the car to bits whoever recently it seems to be smoking (white) whilst everyday driving.

there is not plooms of it just wen your tottering about and certainly when you stop, even when the car is running at normal temperature.

I always look for other cars to see if theirs are smoking due to the outside temperature, however theu never seem to be.

Should i be worried ?

When you say ‘normal temps’ do you mean coolant temps or engine oil as it takes slightly longer for engine oil to warm up then the coolant.

White smoke is normal in winter months for until the car warms up properly. As long as there is no coolant loss and the car is not over heating believe you should be fine.

Hi, thanks for reply,

It does it even when the engine is warm, not all the time though. I can be driving for an hour and I'm now consciously looking in my rear view mirror, if i floor it there's white smoke. If i pull up to traffic lights or stop, smoke again.

Doesn't seem to be any coolant loss or overheating. Looked in the oil filler and that seems clear too, no gunky mess.

The cars booked in for its early MOT on the 28th, I'll mention it then.

Cheers

It is the steam and not the smoke that comes out of the exhaust. Steam disappears and the smoke doesn’t and I am sure it is the same with you too.
