Read a few threads recently about the 2.0 tfsi. More specifically the 2008+ EA888. Seen a few for sale on the likes of eBay and I'm tempted.

Would have to be in S Line/BE spec. But I'm not 100% because the 8P is starting to look and feel outdated now and to find one with electric folding mirrors and even heated seats is almost impossible! Not to mention the potential engine problems (oil consumption and chain).

I can't go for an S3 as I can't get insured on one. Diesel is out of question as I don't do enough mileage to justify it. Shall I just stick with my 1.4t even though I feel it's so underpowered now! What alternatives are there? Appreciate everyone's input as always.
 
Had the same problem as well finding the right car with the right options, also wanted a Stronic Quattro, pan roof with all the bits you mentioned and only 2 were for sale in the country at the time. Ended up with no heated seats but they are leather which I thought strange, had to travel 300 miles for it but worth it in the end.
If you have unlimited funds it's easy to find what you want but most of us don't. My advice is for you to consider a BMW 3 series, hundreds out there and well specked up. Also like for like they are cheaper than Audis.
Or stick to your present car providing it's reliable and spend yer cash on enjoying life.
 
I agree there are plenty of 3 series but it's known as a tw@t's car unfortunately and the M Sports look nothing special compared to Audi S lines. I would go for a Mk5 GTI but insurance is a big issue for me. A3 2.0tfsi is like my limit.

Can you not get anyone Ie mum / dad to become the policy holder and you become a named driver as there are companys out there who give the named driver the no claims bonus as well as the policy holder .

Oh i never knew that , is this a new thing cause when i was on the womans policy as a named driver ( b4 i passed driving test and got my own motor 9yrs ago ) i got the discount like her well mind i was 44yrs old then so might have made a difference . Well everyday a School day cheers for the heads up

I had a mk5 gti then e90 330D now a3 2.0tfsi and its the audi which im paying the most insurance on funny enough, out of the 3 i liked the gti the most as the power and handling was spot on with the mods previous over had done, the audi comes second which i love and will prob be number 1 after i throw some power/handling mods at her and the bmw even though was a very good car i liked least out of the three. Ive also had a golf mk6 1.4tsi which was a good car but got tired of having no power, you’ll be very happy going to a 2.0tfsi and when you get bored they are easily tunable so I’d say go for it.

Bet you miss the torque of the 330 though!

Had a dpf delete and remap so yeah the torque was crazy but i prefer the 2.0tfsi acceleration tbh, will gain back torque when i throw this k04 on

Yeah if your a named driver but you use the car the most it's known as fronting, it's supposed to be whoever uses it the most is the policy holder

Never new that i always thought the owner was always the policy holder .
