Noticed it today during a routine maintenance wash. Right on the diamond cut finish as well, ****** stones :(

I fill those in with a lacquer touch up brush and then flat back with a very fine grade of sandpaper, they usually give no more bother.
But it needs to be done quickly before the water and salt get in.

That'll be from road gritting, think you'll need to seal it and live with it,or get it refurbed

Mine isn't kerb damage though. I'm very careful with my alloys near kerbs, so much so I've never ever kerbed any set of alloys I've had. When you take as much care of them and they get damaged through a stone hitting them it's rather annoying.

Ouch!
Until I got the A3 I'd never kerbed an alloy... ever. Something about the 18" 5 parallel spoke alloys (and possible poor tyre choice with lack of rim protection?) has meant they are in a dreadful state, couldn't possibly be driver error! Very upsetting. I'm trying to be very careful with 19" 7 twin spokes on my TT, they are currently immaculate.

So am I but it doesn't help when people force you into them when driving!

It's even worse when they are diamond cut cos you can't hide it til you can get it returned and you can only get them recut so.many times til it's a new set

Yep, there's a world of difference between kerbing and random stone damage. At least with the former you have no one to blame but yourself but the latter is cruel and unusual punishment.

Hi all.
I've done it, don't know why but I managed to kerb one of my 18'' alloys off my S line A3. I always thought that the wife will do it eventually but I've done it and I'm sooo crossed with myself . It's only 1'' wide and not very visible but now I know it's there and the OCD kicked in.
Is it gonna be a quick fix being diamond cut? How much I'm looking at? And there is a way to seal it prior fixing it as I heard it cand get worse with corrosion?
Thanks,

Dan

Get out the sand paper and lacquer. Something that small is well within the scope of the DIY relm.
Plus you’ll save yourself £75-125 bangers.

There’s a thread on here somewhere which is a ‘how to’ guide.
