So my lovely wife pulled handle to hard on a frozen door this morning now it won't open using the external handle.
Any ideas on what is likely to be broken? Should be able to do it myself but where is best to get parts? Straight from Audi?

Thanks in advance.

Funny enough it happens about the same on mine on the passenger side. It was frozen so on my 3 doors Audi the door will not open. The handle came a bit out from one side. But then when un-frozed it was ok again and back to the right position, opening and closing fine again.

Fingers crossed it starts working again but it's been about 4 hours and an hour drive and still no difference.

Btw does anyone knows if silicone spray will be any good in avoiding the rubber seals to freeze and be able to open the door in the icy mornings? if not anyone knows what to get for it?

I’ve just been pouring look warm water round the rubber and the handle, which did the trick this morning

So I've had time to look and it is dead. Strangely it opens once you have opened it once after unlocking but not before so I guess it's something to do with the dead locks. Any idea on how to get the handle off? I'm stumped...

I used it on my previous car and it worked well. I was careful where I put it, so it didn't go on clothing as people get it. Someone told me a black wax crayon works too.

I've done the job now, thankfully nothing broken, just a kinked cable that wasn't retuning fully. Very glad that's all it was!!!

I'm not sure what the hook tool is meant to do from the link you sent but I didn't need it.

Thanks for the help, I can sleep much easier now!

Thought I'd put a pic up in case anyone has the same trouble.

This is with the handle pulled and when released the rubber on the cable pinched itself stopping the handle returning back making it feel like it was broken.

I couldn't remember the name but as Flying Scotsman says, Gummi Pflege Stift is the stuff - won't be as messy as WD40. Available on Amazon UK for about £8.50 delivered. Other suppliers are available ......
