Hi just seeing if anyone has fitted the decat that fits the standard downpipe not the 3 inch set up. Just seeing if you get results with that. Pipe Worx do one for 149 so tempted. Anyone have dyno results? 8l s3.

Not tried that combo but have recently fitted pipewerx downpipe and decat and it's great..
Spools up quicker and slightly deeper exhaust noise which is nice. Oem downpipe is so restrictive real pants to remove also...

Yeah this is what I want really but struggling to even pay some one to fit it for me. As no one wants to do it lol. 300 quid is fine for the downpipe and decat. But at this rate I'm going to have to pay some one 300 to fit it. I would normally do this kind of stuff myself but I think a work shop ramp is really needed for this one.

My car is in at the minute getting a 3" downpipe amd sports cat and 3" from cat back. It went in on Thursday and it took them untill yesterday late afternoon to get the downpipe on properly. They had to loosen the engine mounts and the steering rack and lower subframe and they still said it was a nitemare to fit. I wont get it back untill Monday as they dont work on a saturday. I would definitely say to leave it to a garage to do unless ur very handy with the tools and dont mind lying on ur back for hours trying to do it urself.

unless your exhaust pipe has been off recently you are likely going to have to cut it off as the pressed bolts are not removable and the nuts and bolts will be rusty held together with love. if I remember rightly the studs come out of the downpipe - so you probably need to grind them off and drill them out but I bet the downpipe is a bigger restriction than the twin cat's. its one of the most important performance updates.

1. TIP and Filter
2. FMIC
3. 3inch downpipe

I have a Toyo decat pipe fitted currently. Bum dyno suggests it releases some power, but I'm not going to try and guess any figures.

Bit noisier when cold, but soon settles down. Can drone at bit at ~3000rpm. Currently on standard cat back exhaust.

Brings on the EML with my stage 1 map, even with a lambda spacer. I can clear with VAG-COM, but this is my biggest gripe.

I would go 3” but cannot justify the labour costs involved with fitting, plus 4WA afterwards.

JoJo recorded some improvements on the last post in this thread. Photobucket has killed the images though - http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/tiv-mapping.180654/page-2

I can say that's it's a kinda job that needs patience and some important know how..I neva tried anything like this before so was always going be a mission for me but I quess that's how you learn.
I will say that if you have a bad back then this job ain't for you lol.
I got a lot of help from the forum and wount not have been possible without your help guys so big thanks again. .let me know if you get stuck..

Cheers for the info guys! It's a hard one as I could do it but will lose the wil to live doing it lol. At the end of the day I'm fitting a Jetex filter already have b5 tip! My aim is 270 bhp so I'm thinking decat it with the decat I mentioned then map and see where I am. Money v, s bhp is 3 inch worth it? Unless u go Forged and 350 plus.

Also hydros3 if you would not mind could you please tell me what your labour costs come when you get your car back. Thanks.

I bought a pipewerx 3" downpipe and sports cat £450
3" system from cat back and dual tips and fitting my downpipe and cat is £550
I also got new bushes for my bag bone mount which they say you should change when doing it. They where about £25 each and i replaced both so £50.
So the whole exhaust will cost just over a grand with the labour included.
I'll put pictures of it up on my thread when i get it back mon.

I think 270 is achievable (depending on engine/turbo health) but EGT`s will be one high side. I'm happy to be corrected if wrong.

It is my target power level if I ever get round to a map tweak...

I hope I am about 270 which is apparently the Max of the injectors. That's with B5 TIP, fabric s2000 cone filter, the usual deletes, FMIC, 3 inch DP and sports Cat, dog bone upgrade, new fuel pump. But I wouldn't call my engine healthy at all. It's an accident waiting to happen. Those figures are based soley on MAF readings divided by 0.8 which is an estimate.

std downpipe is restrictive... you get better spool and lower EGT's with a 3" dp

<tuffty/>

As said by he guys spool time is a lot quicker holds boost longer as well egt also as mentioned..in my s3 8l ban it has a 3 inch plus decat..k&n panel filter and a fuel pump from a a3 8l 180 quatrro which was 2 years older than my car lol.
Swapped it out a scrap car I got as a project track car but never followed through..all in all everything going still strong..gonna fit a tip fmic and then ho from there maybe a rebuild...270 will be easy with your mods you might well be pushing a lot higher..all good under the hood

There is a used toyosport v pipe decat What your after on ebay for 90 quid if your interested.
The listing is user audi tt mk1 parts.

Thanks silva bullet just looked at the decat might buy it. Yeah map wise I'm going to replace my spark plugs buy a couple of spare coil packs! As heard they sometimes blow one when mapping. And have a proper boost leak test. See if all the rubber pipe work holds 2 bar.
