Hi all,

Want to fit one, but what part number? Is it just as easy as slotting it in & that's it?

Anyone had any problems closing the bonnet with it fitted?

Cheers all,

Russ

To cover the other part of that question:- remove the small plug thing, fit in its place the new dipstick and check regularly! No problem closing the bonnet. I kept the short plug thing in the boot to swop over at service times, just in case the dipstick caused offence, but as the warranty is up that is no longer a problem!

Cool, thanks.

Struggling to find it under £25, seems a lot for what it is. Being a typical bloke I have no ides what I want for Christmas, so telling the wife to get me this, should be exciting on the day!!

Cheers, using the parts request service on here.

Well the parts request service didnt work out, message that came back was:

Hi,

Theres no dipstick listed for the car.

Lol, I know that, that's why I supplied the part number!

Yeah I think you need to phone the dealer, give them the part number but under no circumstances mention what car it's for! :D

When you think about it, having someone posting out a long thin thing like a dip stick, it would not be something I would not, as said get along to your local Audi dealership part's department and get one ordered in.

In general, on the Audi parts enquiry issue, you could find a better main dealer parts person hanging out elsewhere, just look around!

Got mine using the ASN parts request and it was shipped safely.

True, got a mate who works at Driftbridge so will give him a shout.

I've said this elsewhere but if ever there was a piece of technology that didn't need updating for the 21st century, it's the dipstick.

Give mjr901 on Facebook aka Mike Hindle from Listers a call. he sorted me out for my B8.

Got mine last year for a tenner from Stoke Audi, see it's £15.00 now!

I agree, but it was the "replacement" method that really annoyed me, drive for a few miles>stop and wait a few minutes>ask for oil level info - I'd expect any "replacement" method to give you "the news" when you switched on the ignition.

That's good enough for me, 2015 should be the same as 2016. :salute:

Good stuff; just order the part by quoting the part number and if they press you on what car it's for, ignore any attempt to tell you it's not for that car. If necessary, tell 'em it's none of their business and they should just take your money. :)

Just ordered one from Mark at Brotek - £17.50 delivered.

Yikes. I ordered mine from Mike the other day and was £10 delivered!

mjr901 on fb.

Finally got round to ordering mine. £11.39 inc VAT from Driftbridge Audi, fitted today, matches what computer says but will leave it in as i'd rather rely on the dipstick.

Mine was a waste of money. MMI always shows full. Dipstick always shows full. Engine doesn't "use" any oil!

Bought the car back in April, went to go to Alton Towers (i'm in Epsom, Surrey) in Aug to find it was near minimum. Topped up, did the trip, been driving ever since & still on max.
