Hi all, I have been having problems with my car recently. The car is Audi A6 3.2 fsi. I have plugged in the VCDS, and following fault code has come up.

Has anybody any idea whether I need to change the battery or the regulator?

Thanks.

Right, when I started the car this morning to charge the battery, (as the battery indicator was showing 50%) I went off to do other things and the battery I thought would charge up, came back half an hour later, the car had stopped running, and the battery indicator was still 50%, so I shut the car off. Two hours later I went back to the car checked the battery level , it was still 50%, so I went for a run, 15 mins later when I drove home, battery still 50%. Got out the multimeter and tested the battery with car turned off and the reading was 12.24, tested the battery with the car running, read 13.85. Would these reading be right, thanks.

The current faults indicate something is draining the battery. Do you have anything aftermarket on the car or leave stuff plugged into the power sockets when it's not in use?

Hi annodomini2,
no I have nothing plugged in, and the only retrofit is two led rear no plate lights.
