Im sure a few people are aware that about 3 weeks ago my S1 decided to destroy piston number two, which has taken the engine with it.

I did try the warranty route, but even tho i had map removed still came up with TD1 was worth a try. From the moment i started to tune i accepted the fact of voiding the warranty such is life lol

I have done some long and hard thinking of the options i have 1st was to source a 2nd hand engine and put back to standard and get rid of the car and cut my losses.
2nd option was to source 2nd hand engine and put car back to how it was at time piston went running stage 2, but would always be in the back of my mind would this happen again.
3rd and final option is to source a 2nd hand engine and get the engine fully forged and run either a standard is38 or hybrided is38

I have now decided after a lot of long painful hours thinking. The obvious option to take is option 3 so i have already sourced a 2nd hand engine which my dad will be collecting tomorrow for me good old dad my self has just been and picked up a is38 turbo.

I guess now is the most painful part what power to go for im currently thinking a respectable 450

What sort of power was you running before it went pop? im only asking as im about to go from stock to stage 2

was running 331 mate so not hight power at all. Im in process of ordering pistons, rods amd valves aiming for just 400 this side of christams then come spring will be going high 400's

I've not seen any stage 2 run 360 normal stage 2 is around 330 mark. I always drive my car hard thats why chose the S, but when engine went i was in 1st booted it went to go into 2nd the rest is history

Revo stage 2 but their Higher Boost map along with supporting mods and Fuel.

when i spoke with them they said 330 is the low boost (later torque map).

More like safe. It’s not all about the end power figure it’s about how the power is delivered.

Nope, it was just for those going stage 1 + 2 on a stock clutch they did lower boost maps.

No coz I had an APR Stage 2 map @331 with a sintered Sachs clutch. Nothing can save the stock clutch. It’s as good as a chocolate teapot

Your the first but anyways if it works for you that is all that matters

I have a 2015 S1 with 16k miles and a DTUK box, I tend to avoid launches but to date the clutch has been good to me :)
