I know this has probably been covered before ,so I’ll apologise. I’m thinking of lowering my Quattro sline using springs ,probably using H&R as ride-seemed ok on my lads golf when fitted and I’m also thinking of changing front perches to level it out,I’m on standard 18s with 15/10 spacers, any recommendations for other spring brands and also is rubbing an issue if I use perchesas well as springs? I also want to retain some ride quality,I’m to old to bounce along on coil overs. TIA

Ok then chap, what offset are the alloys as that's the first area that you need to get right.
Rubbing can be an issue with any size rim to be honest as it depends on rim width and offset, with B7's moreso if using spacers of the thickness you quote.
H&R are excellent springs but work best with decent dampers, they are ok with s-line dampers but are quite harshe and dropping the damper down a fair bit doesn't help, I wouldn't use perches , it makes the ride worse, been there , tried it , didn't keep them.
You would be much better getting decent new damper to go with the springs as they will work so much better, I went H&R 45mm alllround on my s-line , then replaced the dampers with Bilstein B8's allround with the H&R springs and its is excellent, a match made in heaven. nice and level too which is never easy on a Quattro avant as they don't sit level to start with.
By getting decent dampers matched to the springs the dampers will be shorter aswell and better suited to shorter springs so you wont be loosing all the damping travel to start with .

Standard 9 spoke et 43 ,I was thinking b5 cups as front looks like the boots full of illegal immigrants the way these sit, I can only find springs with equal drop front and rear so presumed front would still sit higher,as long as rides not to harsh I can live with it (last camper was on 100mm drop and harsh as!)ideally I’d like bags as can’t fault the ride quality on my lads golf that’s bagged but just can’t justify that sort of money for a car that travels 3k a year

Bog off.......lol ,
Now where was I , if you use the cups with the s-line setup (dampers / springs) then it will help level up the car to a point but depends really on how it sit's at the moment, possibly your rear spring have sagged over time aswell which wont help....any pics of it at present.
Avants do sit lower at the rear , and even more on the Quattro's but saloon's don't seem to suffer as much.....

We only do it for the reactions Rob  do need a saloon picture thread if we're having an avant one though.

My saloon sits a fair bit higher at the front, did on regular springs and Eibach unfortunately, I know you said you don't want coilovers due to the harshness but some of them aren't too bad (depends allot on tyres/alloys too, my ride quality dramatically improved with smaller alloys but obviously they aren't as aesthetically pleasing), might be worth just saving for bags if your set on them as otherwise you might be buying twice, I just try not to pay attention to my stance and focus on other areas.

I'll think about it then just for you chap...

Bags are definitely out of the equation, coilys every set I’ve rode on sub £900 have been well crashy ,I’m past all that at my age, I could probably live with the back but the front definitely needs dropping, would just cups level it out to match the back?

cups would take it down a bit more but not really as much as you'd like .
lower springs on the front would be better, but without better dampers it will be very harsh .
