8V VCDS Mods

Mine is a 17 FL. I’ll have another look but I’m sure I couldn’t find it.

Unless they subbed out to a 3rd party Audi will never install OEM parking sensors and will supply a 3rd party option, using its own speaker in order to save costs. These 3rd party systems are not CAN connected and you will have no MMI options for them. I see them loads on car which come to me.

This has moved to an adaptation channel in 09 within the MQB platform. Cannot remember the exact channel at the moment but if you search on "wiper" within VCDS is till pop up.

Please, can you check it for me? Because I use OBDeleven and it dont have long coding helper.

That’s good, because it’s now an adaptation channel :)

I will have a look next time I get a chance to connect up.

Just do it. I found on rear window wiping something in german like confort wipe and disable it. Thanks for your help my friend.
 
Hi there forum - first post here.. I have been digging quite deep (along with some others) for deactivating what would be the "US Parking Lights". I realize that the term "parking lights" is used differently in EU, but the ones I'm speaking of are the series of three orange/amber LED bulbs encased within the headlight housings on US spec cars. I am DYING to turn them off! I've heard others actually try to turn them on.. HA!

I have a thread on VCDS' forum, any help from here would be much appreciated. I have the wiring diagram for the car as well, purchased from ErWin. Really trying to figure it out.

What do you need it for? Traffic Jam Assist can be activated when you have ACC and LA.

North American and Australian cars don’t have Traffic Jam Assist.

Lane Assist only works above 65kph for those cars.

It can be activated, find someone with VCP and then sent me a PM :)

I've done it multiple times on different VAG cars.

So Traffic Jam Assist does not use additional hardware/parts to what Lane Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control?

It requires the Lane Assist camera, ACC (not only front assist) and you need VCP. If you have those then i can do it remotely.

Don't really have the time to dig in to this but with a fast look it would seem that your "side lights" are hardwired to your licence plate lights, left side via BCM pin 59 of connector T73a. If this is indeed the case you will need to re-pin your BCM in order to assign your licence plate lights new adaptation channels, then deactivate the old ones. May the force be with you :)

EDIT:

Doh, am being stupid... Scratch the re-pinning as the wiring is spliced. Only way to do this is to remove the splicing or to open the headlight cluster and disconnect the bulbs.

Jeez! Just curious, how did you figure that out? I was looking at the wiring diagram waiting for it to talk to me, but that didn't happen.. Lol! So the conclusion would be that coding isn't the answer to this, seems they wire the US spec car differently so something more invasive i.e. opening the headlights up as you mention may be my only choice? I think I'll take a look @ them this weekend for the hell of it.

Well I looked at the wiring digram :)

All you can do is start pulling connector pins off the headlight clusters until you find what you are looking for.... without killing yourself on the xenon voltage that is.

Not possible on the A3 8V from what I have seen, but I have never looked at the mod in anger.

You can turn it on in combination with tail lights. Then your dashboard illumination are on, however your window and steering switches are also on.

In 09 Adaptions - Tagfahrlicht suzatslich dauer licht (something like that)

So I think I made a booboo.. I was in obdeleven and hit the wrong thing and now I have an error I can't clear. I activated lane assist by accident and I don't have that option now I get "Audi Side Assist malfunction pleaser contact service" . I thought I undid all the changes but can't clear the code. Can anyone help me out or did I do something that can't be undone?

As far as i know your modules are self calibrating. So take it for a highway drive. Change a couple of lanes, don't drive to fast. Then SA would be working again.

Btw...why is RTCA not active?? Do you have factory fitted Side Assist?

Thanks for the response. I did take it for a drive thinking also it would calibrate but it didn't. I turned RTCA off to see if it would correct the issue but it didn't so its turned back on.

I'm new to this forum and recently just got an s3. Haven't really done any VCDS Stuff. Would like to start by purchasing one. Looking at the 599 option with unlimited vin currently because my cousin runs a workshop he wants in too.

Have read thru the whole thread and I would like to know what do u guys suggest. Thanks

That would suffice. With an original cable you can do (and brake) a lot.

Thank u! Looking forward to learn and find out more about It and do some magic like g meter and engine data on my S3.

Currently knowledge on VCDS is literally 0 so I'm kinda worried, since it's not cheap at all

Has VCDS been updated so the OPS can now be enabled on the 8v facelift?

Due to receive mine in the next week would really like the OPS.

The activation method for OPS display has changed within the new parking modules. VCDS can no longer activate this, in fact no application can at the moment.
 
Has anyone come up with a setting that can be changed to increase the time before you need to click the lever or press the throttle when stopped by the ACC in a queue?
