Guy builds a working replica of a First World War tank to mark the centenary of the battle of Cambria, and takes his tank driving test so he can take his creation on to the streets for Lincoln’s Remembrance Day parade. He also delves into the history of the earliest armoured vehicles, the soldiers who crewed them, and the woman who built them.

Recorded it and started to watch later .

I'm just a quarter a way through , had to have my Horlicks then bed .

Looks amazing , that 8km line of tanks must of given 'Fritz' a starfish accident.

Watched it last night as I'd "taped" it.
Always enjoy his programmes. As well as the build, a bit of history around it and messing about in modern machines too.
Good on JCB for their contribution.
Won't spoil the end for those who haven't seen it, but disappointed in the Lincoln authorities............... typical Britain :sadlike:

Didn't realise they had male and female tanks :redface new: I've got a relative going over to celebrate (he's ex-tank regiment) with his pals to the place where this 1917 first large "tank engagement" took place - 100th anniversary. Probably taste some of the local beer whilst there :friendly wink:

Not quite as modern, but I had a half day driving an Abbot self propelled gun (I was told it's not strictly classed as a tank). No effective brakes, just put it in 1st gear to slow it down. Great experience.
