What have you done to your 8V today?

I've fitted my rear sportlines on the driveway this morning, took me 10-15 minutes per side. - if anyone has a set to fit and is unsure, start with the rears, its just 3 bolts each side (other than the nearside lower arm with a level sensor on it, thats 2 t20 screws to remove)

its ****** cold outside and very windy, so I'm taking breaks to keep myself warm

will pop out and fit the fronts at some point today too.

Cleaned out the rear wash nozzle jets after they were blocked... Amazed how much gunk came out considering I had cleaned them in the summer .... Did not have white vinegar this time, so fish n chip shop had to do, quick bath in it for the nozzle and a gentle clean with a needle, then rinse out ... sorted. I knew the wifes sewing kit would cone in handy one day

Good to know :hi: Is it hard to remove the top cover on the top image to the right?

According to my dealership this is a common problem when you use cheap supermarket screen wash. Had my A3 into them with the rear jet failing within a year of being new. They replaced the pipes and said they were blocked as the cheap screen wash just congeals as the rears do not get used as much. Been using their suff since with no issue. Not saying thats your issue mind, just passing on the info.

Very easy to remove, just gently prior the plastic cover off, (shown in top right pic), then remove jet nozzle (top left pic). The plastic outer cover helps keep it in place. So take care it does not ping off down a drain as you remove.

Not using cheap supermarket screen wash, but the rear isnt used that much, so I guess things can silt up.

This used to be a common problem when I had my Mark 4 Golf which had the Fan jets in those days (I miss them sure they gave better coverage across the whole screen) - Since then I've always used the VW/Audi Screenwash - Always get the one from parts as they are litre bottles and not the fancy 500ml ones for twice the price from inside the showroom cabinets!! - Last time I got a box of 10 on ebay

A few on here have swapped the jets for fan style ones, see the post below. If I have the right thread there is mention of heated jets too so might be worth a read if you fancy changing them:

Took the 19’s off, cleaned, sealed and now stored . Put the 18’s on ready for winter!

19 top / 18 bottom. ... pics dont really do the 19’s justice, but they fill the arches very nicely.

Black tyres vs a black wheel arch... so things get hidden, but the second pic shows the difference quite well if u look at the back of the wheel arch etc.

You tinted your headlights?

The PFL with the LED headlamp option does indeed have a tinted lens :-

Didn't get around to fitting the power magic pro to go with it yet, but was looking for suggestions as to how people have mounted these? Ideally I'd like to put it in the glovebox so I can change the settings easily, but I'm not sure how to fix it in place. Adhesive strips don't seem like they will stick that well to the felt of the glovebox.

That's a stunning looking car @jungle650 looks uber with 19's on it.....who needs a face lift car...eh......when yer PFL......looks that good

Thx Jassy very kind of you..:friends: yes I love it with the 19’s, I think the Twin Spoke desgin alloys from the Saloon are a fantastic and sinple design which really suits the Sportback, and especially compliments the Misano red.!.

@Rob2k68 got me onto them! :racer: Shame its back on the 18’s for winter but they also look great.

Keep looking at the FL cars but happy enough with mine for the time being, and adding the little aesthetic tweak here and there helps to keep it fresh for me. Keeping one eye on @Rob2k68 and his cheeky Golf R though !

You can cable tie in place. Top left hand corner... there is a blackvue 650 thread which details placement.

I have the same setup.
I mounted the power magic pro behind the right hand dash panel that is visible when the doors open.
The setup really needs a dedicated battery as well tbh as I do get regular quiescent battery drain errors when I scan it no matter what setting I have the power magic set to

Cable ties were what I was thinking, but I'm not sure how people fed them between the little slots in the top left? Is it a case of removing the glovebox?

Have a close look on the top surface with a torch there are (or were on mine) very small slots perfect for feeding a tie wrap through. On the other side there may be some sound insulation foam that you need to dig out so just reach through and have a prod around with the dash end cap removed.

Installed a Blackvue setup in to an S1 the other week, complete with a new Power Magic Battery Pack. Had not seen one before and it seemed pretty good for what it is.

I had the same especially when tweaking settings in VCDS so went for the Cellink Battery B which has enough juice for most of the weekend in parking mode powering front and rear cams ....

wonder what the difference is between that battery pack and the power magic pro
It seemed like it was an external battery pack with a power magic pro built in. Had a couple of USB ports for charging devices also. Not sure on the cost of the package as the customer supplied all the bits (I don't supply Blackvue) but believe the total cost was around £500.00

Power magic pro cuts power to the cams when the car battery reaches a preset voltage usually 11.8v whereas a battery pack is a self contained power unit for the cams which runs much longer in parking mode whilst your car battery is kept in tip top condition.
