Am i going to regret not adding driver assistance pack - tour.

I've got a couple of days to be able to amend the order...

If you want it then yes, if you don't then no.
Welcome fella and nice order.
:rulez:Main rule of ASN is - you MUST supply pictures of new car when you get it or it did not happen. :hi:

Added Comfort & Sound and Sport Diff. They really need to lock the spec now before i add anything else.

Both good additions there mate, the sports diff is well worth it.

i'll probably never know, as i guess it will make little difference on my mainly motorway commute...

...but knowing it was available, would always eat at me a bit.

I'm taking the car skiing in Feb. A limited slip diff on snow will be much better and probably negate the need for winter tyres. I like it slidey :d

Usually LSDs allow more control when sliding. I quite like an oversteery set up. The m140i is great like that in sports+. Needs lots of opposite lock.

It isn’t clear to me if sports differential makes it grip better and therefore less oversteer or locks the rear wheels together for more a controlled loss of traction.

Although it can act like an LSD, I don't know if you should think of it like that if you're trying to decide to buy it. I'd think of it more as a smart diff, it will send power where it's needed most at any given time depending on the drive select mode you're in. It's hard to explain how it feels, and while it's never going to fully oversteer like an M140i, it doesn't understeer as far as I've ever pushed it on the roads.

I think that a good compliment is that I scared a friend that drives a 400bhp Impreza when I catapulted it off a roundabout and it just kept gripping while getting full acceleration. :)

Well it’s too late now, it’s in and no more changes can be made.

I hope it’s a bit playful...

I’ve never had it out of shape but also never turned TC off and booted it. Think I’ll wait for some snow to try that out.

That’s the nice thing about sport plus on m140, it allows hooligan levels of sliding but still rescues you in the end.

Btw, sounds like I’m an m140 aficionado. I love it, but the s4 is a far better prospect for everyday.

good spec tho

I don think the assist pack is a must option. Anyway here in Australia, asisstant pack(audi presence) comes as a standard option for s4.

I think adaptive suspension, and sport diff are the must. And yeah wagon with panomric sunroof is a must too.

I think the only options it doesn’t have are assistant pack
Parking assist
Head-up display

All good points :)

To me though:
The rail luggage system is an accessory not an options
Dynamic steering is a good point, I guess I forgot about it as I was clear i didn’t want it from the outset
Rear seat heating is a good point too.

I’d slightly disagree on the accessories part as it’s built into the boot so not just something you could by aftermarket, like an accessory.

I have it on my a6 and it’s utterly useless. :)

Hahaha, fair enough! I’ve used it a bunch for making sure the shopping doesn’t fly about the boot on the way home from the shops. And meant I could load a bunch of wheels in without folding the seats and the rail kept them tightly held in place.

Thanks. :d

I have the patience of a fly. I tried to add more options today. Thankfully it is now locked.

Did exactly the same here, an extensive options list is a benefit and a curse!

erm, I didn't ad the storage pack. Not sure why. It's standard on the A6 (which i have now), so maybe that threw me.

Can you retrofit the nets on the backs of the seats and the rear cup holders?

I've answered my own question.

For reference for others:
You have to replace the whole seat back part number: 8S0 881 969 L/R £128.38

You also have to replace the whole centre rear arm rest for the cup holders. Part number 8W9 885 205 BE DXB (for black leather) £402.86

I didn't bother looking up the lockable glove box and i think its impossible to add the small storage under the light switches.

The seats look much better without the nets, the cup holders in the rear are a small improvement.

I didn't opt for storage pack for following reasons..

Dogs go in the boot so covered with a boot liner, plus I did keep luggage net from my S3 and fits fine if I ever need it, still comes with tether hooks and a handy 'take-away' hook.

Kids just end up putting cr@p in the seat back nets, plus look much cleaner without.

Enough storage for me in glovebox and hate having things in my car rolling about.

Agree the cup holders in rear would be handy but not very often my kids have a drink that can't just go in the door pocket...bottle of water/juice etc.

It's good value for money if you find these things useful and expensive to retro fit afterwards.

Having had an both M135 and M235 I agree with you

Luckily I’m keeping the M140 (wife’s car).

Collecting on 6th December, A6 goes back tomorrow. Not bad timing management (pot luck!)

Bye bye.

Good car. Totally reliable. Not very sensibly specced (my mistake - alcantara, never again). Lovely at 95mph (where laws allow).

I had a M135i LCI for a year and it was set up to understeer, like all road cars. It would even push understeer on a light throttle. The only way to get the rear to play was to purposely lose traction, which is a bit yobbish. And with the open diff it wasn't progressive either.

My solution was to fit M4 LCA's to give it 1.5 deg of front camber, the car became almost neutral then ; it also improved steering feel a bit and reduced front outside shoulder wear, which was the prime objective. £200 well spent + 2 hours of work and an alignment.

To be honest I actually find it to be the opposite. Very oversteery most of the time. It has 20% more torque than a 135 which might make a difference.

The whole package is utterly brilliant in the dry and pretty tedious if you're in a rush in the wet/cold/damp/factionally damp/snow and so on.

Great car and unbelievable value. Heresy here, but so much more entertaining than S3, in every way. However, a bit frustrating in sub-optimal conditions and so I'd compromise on the S3 as an only car.
