Going to need a new set all around discs and pads soon as I’ve got quite a lip on my discs. Does anyone have any recommendations ?
Don’t really want to break the bank, I’ve been looking at Mtec ones after a bit googling....

Also how do I know wether I have 320mm or 345mm discs on the front or will both fit on the same calliper ?

Thanks !

MTEC I’d say as I am also going for their slotted ones for my S4.

You should have a sticker either in the boot or service book, which shows different PR codes for your car. Looks something like this:

IKD and 1LB are the disc codes.

Sorry, the above sticker is from my B7. I have used it as an example.

Here is another thread on MTEC discs and pads.

Mintex pads are good too but you can go Redstuff with these discs as there is less brake dust.

You can always call MTEC and ask if they can do one for you or check their eBay shop.

No problem mate. Forum search doesn’t work all the time. I google for the ASN threads

Another one which might help with the disc sizes and the website you can use to find out what different PR codes are for.

I will have a look once I leave work at my codes.

Would be good to see photos if anyone has Drilled/Grooved/Dimpled brakes on theres already...

I had MTEC drilled discs on my B7 3.0TDi quattro a few years back ,and they were excellent.

@GAS MONKEY Those MTEC drilled discs look great! ... I just checked their webiste and they are coming in at £80.99 for a pair of drilled discs. That almost seems to good to be true.

I read somewhere that drilled discs can be a bit noisy. Is that true?

What pads are you using on them? (I am thinking of going with EBC redstuff)

And lastly, do you find a marked braking improvement over the regular discs?

Thanks :)

Drilled discs are no more noisier than normal discs. Grooved discs however can be quite noisy. Just changing between discs of the same size whether they be drilled or not won't make a marked difference. Usually the pads are what make the difference.

+1 with desertstorm it's the pads which will make the difference if you are going like for like size wise on the discs ,did you add the protective coating to the price and use code New10 to get 10% discount?

@GAS MONKEY I haven’t ordered yet, just window shopping... but thanks for the code!

What’s the difference between the black/silver/gold coating?.. the coating wears off the disc surface anyway doesnt it?.
